Joe Handley Posted October 11, 2014 Posted October 11, 2014 Movie prop would explain the lack of a roof.
Rob Hall Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Today was eclectic 70s import coupe day...saw a sharp yellow Fiat X1/9, a clean red Alfa Romeo GTV, a well worn faded red Lancia Beta (I see this one a few times a year), and a derelict-but-running gray/black Datsun 200SX,,, Edited October 12, 2014 by Rob Hall
Cool Hand Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Saw this sitting on a trailer just outside where I work... I'm going to let you guys guess what it is Close enough ... First Holden made, the FJ. The truck hauling it is a Film ( Empire Films ) vehicle... So I suspect it's a movie prop The 48/215 (aka FX) was the first car Holden manufactured from 1948 -1953. The FJ was manufactured from 1953 - 1956. Edited October 12, 2014 by Cool Hand
CJ1971 Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Not a Holden fan mate... But I couldn't recall what the first Holden was... So I just threw in FJ... The 48/215 (aka FX) was the first car Holden manufactured from 1948 -1953. The FJ was manufactured from 1953 - 1956.
Joe Handley Posted October 12, 2014 Posted October 12, 2014 Isnit weird that the FX kinda looks a bit Buick like while the FJ looks more like a Chevy?
91blaze Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Finally saw a Tesla Model S out on the streets. We don't get many "high end" cars around here so it's not surprising the lack of Teslas. Not to mention, they kinda blend in with other new cars and don't stick out too much.
gtx6970 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 (edited) Not today but early last week I think,,,,and I have NO idea what year it was. lysleder Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 (edited) Well, it is not strictly a vehicle, but automotive all the same. There is this service station in my town who stopped selling gas, so they took down the gas name brand sign. However, they are still in business doing oil changes, and inspection and such so they put a new sign up with what I assume is the company name. I am not certain it is a well chosen name.. peter31a Posted October 15, 2014 Posted October 15, 2014 Looking at that poor old Holden, I wonder if it had a fabric roof that went up and down in those channels in the roof like a Ford A400?
Joe Handley Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Almost forgot, there was a very sinister looking all black 2015 Mustang parked in front of the Enterprise Rental Car Agency by work today when I got back from lunch?!
unclescott58 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Looking at that poor old Holden, I wonder if it had a fabric roof that went up and down in those channels in the roof like a Ford A400? Nope. Those Holden's all came with full steel roofs from the factory. Scott
peter31a Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 O.K. Thanks, Scott. Just a stab in the dark after looking at the pic or awhile. Made me think of a A400 or B400.
Crazy Ed Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 There I was, Driving a Full Sized Pickem'up Truck n spot this sign. Now If the road is too Narow for them how the heck am I gonna fit!!!??
Harry P. Posted October 16, 2014 Author Posted October 16, 2014 I saw that same black Tesla again this morning. That's about the third or fourth time I've seen it around here. The guy obviously lives either in my town or very close. What a great looking car. It's just beautiful.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Saw a White '73 Mustang on the way down to Buckhead. I see the car several times a month, at the same time of day, so it's obviously a daily driver. Clean car, shiny paint, looks like it's only a year or two old. Also saw a red Ferrari Mondial cabriolet on a trailer (behind a Dodge diesel dually) as I was getting back close to home.
GLMFAA1 Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 Saw this old APC going East in Ohio Ya I know I got a cracked windshield greg
unclescott58 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Saw this old APC going East in Ohio Ya I know I got a cracked windshield greg What are we looking at here? Scott
berr13 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Armored personnel carrier...M113 maybe? or something newer?
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Saw a 60s Chevy regular bed with prostreet tires.
The70judgeman Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 I couldn't tell you what year it was, but I passed a white Bentley Continental GT V12 on my way to work. I'm not much of a fan of Bentley's, but it was a sharp looking car none-the-less. Didn't even know about them.
The70judgeman Posted October 18, 2014 Posted October 18, 2014 Right down the street from the old house. These were parked in front of a house of an owner of a '70 GTO(was in the garage).
