The70judgeman Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 At the grocery store this morning. Not sure if it's a '66 or '67, Tempest or a LeMans. It did have a 326 in it though.
XJ6 Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Iam guessing 67 with the up and under head lights ?
The70judgeman Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Iam guessing 67 with the up and under head lights ?'66 was the same way. As was '65, but I know for a fact it's not that. I should have checked the taillight panel, but was already on my way out.

After looking up pictures of the cars...'66 Tempest and LeMans and also '67 Tempest and Lemans I narrowed it down to a '66 Tempest.
Lownslow Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 some geezers were taking cracks at it till he opened the hood, the green one has a 572 with a procharger.
Joe Handley Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Is that the same car? Those look like a couple hairdryers to me.
LDO Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 I saw a Porsche 918 in Austin on Saturday morning. It was downtown, outside the Lego Kids fest. I'll post a picture tomorrow. It had "Martini" graphics in several shades of gray.
ChrisBcritter Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Around 5 PM, just as I was leaving Hobbytown USA, I spotted a bright orange '69 Shelby convertible headed north on Waukegan towards Deerfield.

The70judgeman Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Was in the backyard grilling dinner and I saw the flash of a car out of the corner of my eye. Not a newer car but a much older car. A 1957 Thunderbird...triple black with a Continental Kit hanging off the back. It had the hard-top on, but it still looked pretty cool.
Junkman Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 All of the following I spotted while holidaying in France.
Earl Marischal Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 It's funny, the vast majority of those cars wouldn't warrant a second glance in the UK or mainland Europe. The 7 and the Le Mans being the exception of course.steve
Junkman Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Look again and let me know when was the last time you saw any of them. And when did you ever see a MK1 Twingo in the UK? Edited September 8, 2015 by Junkman
Agent G Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 What is that house painter's green van? That'd make a cute little build for sure.G
Tom Geiger Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 Cool shots from France. What did you see on another road... a lot of cars we've never seen here in the USA, some decent classics and a sprinkling of US cars. It's funny that when I was in England a few years ago I saw more Chrysler products... PT Cruisers, 300s and Jeeps than any other US manufacturer. And one you didn't show but I really like is the Chrysler 300 break (wagon). We didn't get that one here!
Lunajammer Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 My uncle in San Francisco had one of these. Surprisingly smooth ride, like a large old car. Wish I had it.
Junkman Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 What is that house painter's green van? That'd make a cute little build for sure. G Go right ahead. It was prepared for the annual Renault 4L Trophy - a rally in which only Renault 4s can participate. The rally starts in Paris and ends in Marrakech, Morocco. Each team is required to carry ~50kg of school equipment and all the money they got from their 'sponsors'.Since over 1,000 teams participate each year, typically the event yields over 50 tons of school and sports equipment and in excess of 30,000 Euros, to bedistributed in the poorer regions of Morocco, to help children there to get a proper school education. Whatever money is raised by these private entries, is matchedby the French financial consulting firm Deloitte on top. That little R4 van is festooned with stickers of his 'sponsors', like most of the participants' cars. Under French law, the 'sponsors' can deduct their contributions from the tax. This is one of the best citizens help citizens events I know of.

They left the market shortly after the merger with Fiat, though.
