Wild Raspberries. We were working in an old fire scar that was thick with wild raspberry vines, vines packed with ripe raspberries. It more than made up for the poison oak and thorns.

Mmmmmm...you guys are killing me. Alls I got here is insanely high humidity, endless carpy malls, car lots, landscaping companies and fast food joints...and idiots everywhere.

At least you don't have what I have... insanely high property taxes. Highest in the nation.

Yipee!

When the humidity is relatively low here, it's really not a bad place to be. Got up early this AM and went for a long drive in the country in the old truck with the windows down, low 70s and about 60% humidity. Not much traffic, stopped at a little church-lot car show on the way home. Treated myself to a steak / egg / cheese / grease bagel, heard Porsche and Ford won LeMans, now I think I'm gonna take a little nap. Then a couple hours of paperwork and a long walk late in the afternoon.

Some days, life is pretty OK.  :)

A week ago Friday I wrecked my Motorcycle. First time in over thirty five  years of riding. A dog ran in front of a van pulling a utility trailer, van parked it I couldn't stop and the dog walked away.

I got a ride in an ambulance and a broken clavicle, bumps, bruises and scrapes. The bike has mostly cosmetic damage easily repaired. My collarbone how ever took a plate and four screws to fix this last Friday. Which by the way hurt more than the accident!

Why does this please me? Because I have reviewed the accident over and over in my mind. It could have been so much worse! I did everything I could have possibly done to avoid it except stop in time and as they say "it happened so quick"

I am very blessed....

Glad you're still in one piece.

It's not everyday you walk away from a bike accident.  Back in 2000 when a car made a left turn into me (caught me between the front fork and shifter), I thought I had it.  I couldn't lay down because of the pain.  When the ambulance dropped me off at the ER, I walked in.  All these nurses and doctors were standing there and one of them asked if I was the motorcycle accident and I said yes.  Turns out the hospital does some code to get everyone to the ER when there's a bike accident figuring it's going to be the very worst.  All I had was a concussion and 8 broken ribs.

Be happy you survived.

Just eight broken ribs? That's all?

Jeez, you really wasted the ER's time... you could have just walked that off.

:P

Sounds to me like you had a very good day. Sometimes the simple things are more pleasurable that the big, expensive things. Some people go on ocean cruises, some people go on a backroads cruise in an old pickup with the windows down.

I prefer the old pickup to the ocean liner. ;)

Are you by any chance talking about a McDonald's steak, egg, and cheese bagel?

Man, I love those!  B)

Yup. I love 'em too. I don't eat much fast food, but sometimes there's just nothing else that quite hits the spot.

And every now and then I'll get a bag of Krystal burgers. Ah yes...overrefined white-bread buns, American cheese-product, a small square of mystery meat, a tiny pickle slice and loads of greasy chopped onions. Heaven.  :D

That must be a Midwestern/East Coast thing at McDonalds..I have had them in Ohio, never seen them here in AZ.  Tasty...

Sounds to me exactly like what they serve here at White Castle. "Sliders." Yum!!!

I was blessed to spend part of today with our only living son on fathers day.Sometimes we tend to take these all too precious moments for granted. We should all treasure them.

Not long ago I built a 72 Nova replica of one of my best friends neighbors. He is a vet and is having some health problems. As I heard what a nice guy he was I went ahead and built the  replica for him . Well, he received it today and my friend said he was speechless. Said he teared up and could not stop looking at it. It did turn out good ( for me ) and I am so happy he likes it. He could not believe that someone he doesn't even know would do this for him. I am happy I did it and so glad he liked it. It is on him mantel. That pleased me very much.

good on ya Ray, it never hurts to pay it forward.   :)
