Agent G Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 There was an old joke.... the devil appears in a big ball of fire on the alter of a small church. Everyone runs for their lives except for one old man who quietly just sits there in the first row. The devil looks at him and yells, "Don't you know who I am??" The old man replies, "yes." The devil is ticked off at this point and bellows, "And you are not afraid of me??" The old man just blinks and says, "Nope, I was married to your sister for 50 years!" G
High octane Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Dec. 15th and I took my ride for one more spin and to ad some gas to the tank as well. Guess all I have to do now is to wait for spring.
Crazy Ed Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 My Beer Fridge had a Soda Freeze and Explode. Luckily it was semi empty so cleanup was fairly easy!
Earl Marischal Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Collected my new car today, a Skoda Yeti. No pics yet as it's dark here. Tomorrow hopefully.steve
slusher Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 As of Thursday all Christmas shopping is finished.
Tom Geiger Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Nice looking 4x4 Earl. We don't get Skoda in the USA. I know they are owned by Volkswagen and saw that your Skoda Yeti was voted "Best Car To Own" in the UK 2013 Driver Power survey. Good luck with it!
Ace-Garageguy Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 That's a good looking ride. I agree. Looks BMW-ish. I like the swept-back windshield and the vertical rear door and glass too. Swoopy in front, useful in back.
slusher Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Saturday morning hot water tank started spraying water all over the utility room. So glad there was a plumber that worked on Saturday and could fix it. Also glad we was here. No damage and it is fixed.
Earl Marischal Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 Thanks guys. It's 2 litre 180bhp diesel. My first diesel too.steve
unclescott58 Posted December 20, 2015 Posted December 20, 2015 I like the Skoda. 180 hp out of a 2 liter diesel. Not bad.
charlie8575 Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Here's the new Skoda! steve This is a very nice looking little SUV. Not at all like the name might suggest. Too bad we can't get these here. I'd give this some serious thought. Charlie Larkin
Rob Hall Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 A couple of the Yeti's platform-sharing siblings are sold in the US, albeit w/ more mainstream styling--the VW TIguan and Audi Q3..
blunc Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 was able to get the starter changed in my wife's 96 Accord in under four hours while parked in the drive way, with no loss of blood.
cobraman Posted December 22, 2015 Posted December 22, 2015 Very pleased today. My daughter is coming home for the holidays. The wife and I will be very happy for the next few days.
High octane Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Watching my 2 year old grandson opening all the presents that Santa had brought him. I know that it's a day early, but that's how it has to work this year.
unclescott58 Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 For me and my family, Christmas Eve is Christmas. We always open our gifts the night of Christmas Eve after dinner. It seems to be a Scandinavian thing. We play games or watch old Christmas movies after that. Until we're ready to go to sleep. My sister always makes ham for the Christmas Eve dinner. But what I like better, is the next morning, the actual Christmas Day morning. She takes the left over ham and mixes it with scrambled eggs. Yum!I enjoy Christmas now days. I have a really great family and extended family. You know, in laws, etc. They all pretty good and a lot of fun spending time with. They may have a strange sense of humour. But then again, so do I!So, it please me I'm going to my one sister's again for Christmas. I know I'll have a good time. I just hope the rest of you have as good of a holiday with your loved one too. And everybody keeps safe.
iamsuperdan Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 What pleased me today? Everyone is in a fantastic mood, and my customers and vendors remembered me! Gifts o'plenty showing up. I re-gift most of it though. Gave the chocolates and the Hickory Farms stuff to some of my support staff. They get forgotten about sometimes when gifts arrive.
Crazy Ed Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 Made sure my Wifes Present was right for it's application and got it wrapped in a sentimental way and I'm sipping some 18 year old Scotch for a Night Cap as I type this. About all that's left is to Wish all that read this - Merry Christmas.
charlie8575 Posted December 25, 2015 Posted December 25, 2015 I spent a very nice evening with a friend from high school and his family last night for Christmas Eve.As the amount of family I have dwindles at an alarming rate, it's good to know that I have people who want me around for the holidays.Charlie Larkin
