Rob Hall Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 What is a "Canyonero"? Scott Fictional SUV in an episode of the Simpsons..was huge.
Rob Hall Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) A '71-73 Dodge Coronet wagon or Plymouth Satellite wagon...Hot Wheels tooled up one as a 'Brady Bunch' wagon a while back, but it's neatly modified w/ a shaker hood scoop. Something like that would be fun in scale--could do stock versions and phantom Hemi or 440 Six Pack versions..I'd love to see one with a '71-72 Road Runner/GTX front end. unclescott58 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Fictional SUV in an episode of the Simpsons..was huge. OK. Thanks Rob.
Rob Hall Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 For modern wagons, I'd love to see the CTS-V wagon kitted--that's a 1:1 wagon I would like to own. Or the Merc CLS shooting brake--not sold in NA..love the design:
charlie8575 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 That CLS wagon is gorgeous. Wonder how hard it would be to get one built to U.S.-spec? Charlie Larkin
Lunajammer Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 For purely self serving and sentimental reasons, the 1966 Pontiac Catalina wagon.
Joe Handley Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Or the Merc CLS shooting brake--not sold in NA..love the design: Wow, and I thought the sedans were horrible looking! Edited August 10, 2014 by Joe Handley
Modelmartin Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Surprising that nobody's mentioned one that neither AMT Corporation, nor Revell ever did (and both produced multi-versions of the basic car on which this station wagon can be based: 1940 Ford Station Wagon which can be kitted in both Standard and Deluxe Versions. ArtDidn't some guy in Indiana do one of those in resin several decades ago? I vaguely recall that.
Thatswhatshesaid Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Probably the Mila Kunis/Laura Prepon action set. Oh what beautiful action that would be.
charlie8575 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 For purely self serving and sentimental reasons, the 1966 Pontiac Catalina wagon. Wouldn't mind this myself, or the Bonneville with the option to build with buckets, as you could per the factory. Charlie Larkin
disabled modeler Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Wouldn't mind this myself, or the Bonneville with the option to build with buckets, as you could per the factory. Charlie Larkin That would be SWEET....!
VW93 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I'd like to see Revell do a '57 Ford 2 door wagon from their '57 Ford tooling. Shouldn't be to hard for them to work from the existing tooling. It would be great if they could tool up a 223 cu in 6 for it. And make it a 2 in 1 kit right from the start. Include both the 6 & V8 engines in it. Include all the speed equipment for the V8. Maybe some generic commercial business decals and some drag decals. If they offer it as a true 2 in 1 kit from the beginning, I'd bet they would sell a lot more kits when initially released.
JollySipper Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I've always liked this one! It has a 421 Super Duty engine in the front and a transaxle type thing in the back..... Done for weight distribution I would guess.
Greg Myers Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Came from the Factory that way. Edited August 10, 2014 by Greg Myers
jbwelda Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 wow that Tempest is some strange stuff! I sort of knew there was something weird about those cars but never really knew what, aside from the half-a-V8 engine. but that enclosed driveline and rear transaxle, I had never really seen that before. so I personally would be around second in line to vote for it as THE candidate, plus its just kool in its shape too! jb
gtx6970 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 mid 50's Chrysler or Desoto wagon would way up my list Or a 1967-69 Plymouth Fury wagon
unclescott58 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Cool. But I would not count that one as a station wagon. I would considered it more of an SUV or truck. I do like the though. Scott
Jairus Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 The two most logical new wagon kits based on previously produced molds would be Galaxie Ltd. 1946-48 Chevrolet Fleetmaster wagon... and Revell 1957-58 Ford Ranch Wagon. I happen to know that both Gary Schmidt at Galaxie and Ed Sexton at Revell have both under consideration. Are they in production? I have no idea, but both have said they are thinking about it. Wagons are very popular now and all manufactures have something in the works.
unclescott58 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 The '57 Ford wagon should be a Del Rio Ranch Wagon, rather than a plain or Custom Ranch Wagon. Ford's answer to Chevy's Nomad. Scott
