I would agree with your statements about the rear quarter window area. It's very subtle but there. The crease holds up pretty nice to paint but I have fiddled with the several I have built

I want to add also that it appears that GMS Customs on eBay has sold out of their Torinos! At $19.95 each and free shipping, that was a deal that couldn't be beat!

As a matter of fact , I bought the last one (of GMS' ) first batch !

You're right ; that price is super ! It'd cost me more in fuel and headaches to drive the 7 miles to the LHS versus the price savings and free shipping !

I've purchased many kits from GMS Customs ; excellent service !

Now this may be the pics, and I also need to dig out my Pro Modeler kit, but the body side creases could stand some sharpening up. They may be fine as is, but a few coats of paint, and they're going to fade away. The crease will be there, but not as sharp as it could be.

On the original body the crease on one side is faint and the other side is almost non-existent. On the real car the creases are quite pronounced so it is going to need some work to sharpen them up.

That's a handy guide, Jeff, but I have to ask- how did you get to it? All I could get was broken/missing links in the rest of that site and no way to move to different pages.

I bookmarked it, though, and yeah, I think I'm going to grab one of these. Nice-looking car. Wonder if anyone will do a 4-door hardtop or a wagon? I'd buy them.

Not sure where the other stuff is Charlie, I had just Googled '70 interior colors a while back for our Torino community build:

Cool! Thanks Tim, I am glad I kept procrastinating on this build, now I will buy the correct one and continue with this build!

Where did you source the nice ten spokes? Those can't be from the. 68 gt500...

Got them at a show for only 5 dollars. They are from a diecast from GMP and yes, they are metal!

Is there any way possible that one of you guys can post some pics comparing the old body to the corrected one?

Click on the link in the first post. That's where all the photos and the review are.

I have the old Pro-Modeler version. That incorrect body line doesn't bother me too much. The seats always have. I need to finish building the old kit. And despite my dislike of the use of the low back buckets in this kit, I will still use them in this build. They look okay. They're just more right for a '69 Torino, than a '70. If anybody asks, I'll just tell then that my Torino represents an early pre-production prototype built before the correct seats were available. I may have to buy and build a second with correct seats. Painting it a different color. Just for the fun of it.

My brother had a 68 Fairlane that had a ripped up front seat and my other brother had a 70 Torino that they removed the engine (351C)from . So he simply unbolted the front seat from the 70 and put it in the 68 . No mods needed same bolt pattern . Just paint the front seat a different color and that is an easy fix.

Thanks, Tim! Very, VERY pleased that Revell did this! Voted immediately with my wallet, and I'm delighted with the result. I'll be all too happy to harden up the drip molding corners like Bill, 'cause they saw to these other two more major corrections.

We get some head-scratchers like an all-new snap tooling of a '97 Vic, and some very encouraging signs like this retooling and a '67 Camaro that indicates Revell may be getting gross proportions, at least, under control again. Here's hoping the encouraging developments eventually outpace the w-t-fs...

Now I can take one of my un-built '70 Pro Modelers to restore this bad boy.

The body has been cleaned up, and I have some nice chrome for it. I was going to convert a "Nascar" '71, but this one came to me as a surprise for a reasonable price.

Ron, I am going to do the same thing.

Bad news is I found out my Pro-Modeler has an incorrect Torino body. Good news is my Cyclone is getting new parts.

I've never built this kit, but I do like the engine from it- easily the best 385-series Ford big block ever done in 1:25 scale plastic. It could be used as a 429 or 460 engine, or even a 370, which was used in the heavier-duty F-Series, Louisville and C Series Tilt Cab trucks.

I haven't purchased one (yet), but I hear the Calnaga Castings engine (which was based on this kit's engine) is even better.

I bought the revised kit yesterday and had to dig out my original Pro Modeler version for comparison.I didn't look for the difference in the seats but I did catch the altered quarter panel.

I'm thinking that the nameless tires might not be a completely bad thing(the Goodyear name having been excised from the kit tires) .Firestone was still very cozy with Ford back then(William Clay Ford was married to Martha Firestone) so I wonder if the real Fords were ever produced with other brands of tires beside Firestones.Now-does anyone know if Firestone is as greedy as Goodyear when it comes to licensing?

Good years are correct for the magnums. Ford did use some firestone wide ovals but not until sometime in 71 and I think it was an availability thing. On some models both are correct depending which plant they were built at but generally ford muscle wore Goodyear polyglas tires

If you look in the pics in Tim's review they are there

Thanks but they don't seem to show up for me. Thats why I asked but no big deal I'll see it soon enough.
