91blaze
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea but I like it. It's not your typical cookie cutter hot rod that seems to pop up in every show and looks to be very well made.
kalbert
Oh he gets it alright. That is a rod if there ever was. Its classic style, but original and unique. And the Olds Rocket is the icing on the cake. This guy gets it.
Joe Handley
I agree with Kalbert, this guy gets it, and get's it in spades at that! It screams early 60's show rod and I wouldn't be surprised if the builder is even 50 years of age himself.

Danny Lectro
Yeah, he certainly does get it. That is a beautiful build. Here is another build from the same shop: http://www.speedhunters.com/2014/07/galaxian-japan-reinvents-hot-rod/ Not as pretty as the Rodriguez, but still very creative and nicely executed. There is some really good stuff coming out of the Japanese hot rodding scene.
chunkypeanutbutter
Pretty cool that's in Japan.
Snake45
Those cars would have been considered beautiful in the early '60s. They're very much in that era's showcar style--look at Ala Kart or Lil Coffin. Not my thing at all.
southpier
needs some rust and welded spiderwebs to be really kewel
Kris Morgan
An old Ford done up in almost a show rod fashion with an Olds mill. Some of the details may be a bit much. Pretty cool rod though. Last I checked the idea behind building a show rod/custom was to make it different. Pretty sure he DOES get it.
Ace-Garageguy
Interesting. Been around a while too. Good craftsmanship, but some questionable design elements. I don't care for the tubular outrigger-struts for the vestigial running boards, and the nose looks to me like it's been driven into something dead-center, and pulled everything in with the impact. Sorta like an old-guy with no teeth, ya know? Edited October 21, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy

crazyjim
I love it! If it's a Japanese car, why does it have California plates?
Joe Handley
I love it! If it's a Japanese car, why does it have California plates? Because it's now owned by a guy in California that's old enough to remember cars like this being build for the cars shows back in the 60's, and appreciates them! Matt T.
Rod & Custom feature car several years back. I liked it then, and I like it still. I get it.
ratdoggy
Take a look at some 1963-1965 car magazines........There were some horrific custom cars then. I like he two of these tho

Danno
Neato! But, I'm not keen on the outrigger/running board treatment, either. I tried something very, very similar on a model several years ago and I could never get it to look anything but awkward. Just like this rod.
