mrm Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 This was supposed to be a simple project that went a little bit further that it should have. (story of my life, lol) I just wanted to try a new masking method for flame jobs. Then I decided to brake up the hood, so machined my own aluminum air cleaner hats. The suspension is modified Aluma Coupe and the wheels are from the Smoothster kit. The front tires came from the Aluma Coupe and the rear ones are from a Tamiya F40, but they have been narrowed. The paint is some blue nailpolish. The flames are all painted and for them were used two different whites, two different yellows, bright orange and two different reds - all decanted from Tamiya spray cans. Everything was covered in 2k clear. I showed the model at Overland Park this year, so I thought it was cool to make a Kanzas registration plate with Heartland in it. Thanks for looking.
Dragline Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Wow, taken to its logical extreme. Dandy little roadster. Bob

Ace-Garageguy Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Man, I sure didn't expect that. Really imaginative, beautiful paint, quality craftsmanship.

mrm Posted November 5, 2014 Author Posted November 5, 2014 I want to make one more, but to scratchbuild it from styrene and to be fully detailed. I'll make it a roadster.
Maxicoop Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 Wow !!!! what a paint job !!!!! on a very sweet ride !!!!! awesome build !!!!!!!
Danny Lectro Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 I like that a lot! Great idea and excellent execution.
mrm Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Thank you guys for all the great comments.
bobthehobbyguy Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Great job. The blue and the flames go together well. Know what you mean about a simple project getting out of hand. Simple can be as bad as the word free. Sometimes free ends up costing one in the long run.
sigmaman Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Wondered what one of those might look like built. Cool!
