STYRENE-SURFER Posted December 30, 2016 Posted December 30, 2016 Bear , Thats from one of my favorite albums. Da Capo is also fantastic. Arthur was a very cool and demanding artist, sort of the "Miles Davis" of pop art west coast rock and roll.
PorkChopPaws Posted December 31, 2016 Posted December 31, 2016 Yeah growing up in SoCal I was privy to all their stuff. They wouldn't tour outside of California because they were afraid they couldn't score heroin.A couple of them died of OD's.Arthur kept making music until he died of cancer.
landman Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I have this one which is the only one I've seen other than one time I saw it in a movie. They were playing it in the movie. There are some pretty good tunes on it. According to Google it was recorded in 1967, which is likely when I bought it.

metalhead Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 As my forum name implies, I love heavy metal. I just discovered this band a couple of days ago. Very aggressive but with awesome melodic riffs. Translucent potency is by far my favorite song from this album with the Unbinding Truth a very close second.
Danny Lectro Posted January 15, 2017 Posted January 15, 2017 (edited) I've been obsessed with Within Temptation's Hydra album since i stumbled across it a month or so ago: Edited January 15, 2017 by Danny Lectro

STYRENE-SURFER Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 (edited) I discovered this old acoustic Jellyfish video. They were quite different than the rest of the scene going on at the time. 1993Think power pop, great harmonies and allot of bubble gum.https://youtu.be/ZR0xOO8oP0c Edited February 19, 2017 by STYRENE-SURFER
afx Posted February 19, 2017 Author Posted February 19, 2017 (edited) Jellyfish released only two albums, Bellybutton and Spilt Milk (both excellent) before braking up. One of my favorites for sure. Edited February 19, 2017 by afx

waynehulsey Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 The best band to come out of Phoenix: Sun City Girls. Space Prophet Dogon from Torch of Mystics album. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfQljgzAtRE
iamsuperdan Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers a couple of weeks ago. GReat show! But I was just as impressed with their openers. A group called Irontom. Goofy name, but the band was really good. I've been listening on Spotify quite regularly over the past couple of weeks.
afx Posted June 22, 2017 Author Posted June 22, 2017 (edited) Just found this album....... Good stuff! Edited June 22, 2017 by afx

Draggon Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I like Buckethead and all, but what he did to The Breeze is criminal. JJ Cale does it better IMO
JollySipper Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Yeah, Claypool is a bit eccentric, to say the least! The rest of the album is good, tho, and you gotta admit Gov't Mule did Simple Man some justice........

afx Posted July 5, 2017 Author Posted July 5, 2017 (edited) An oldie but a goodie. Tidbit: this and many other of Stevens' album covers are his original artwork. Edited July 5, 2017 by afx
afx Posted July 27, 2017 Author Posted July 27, 2017 AXS TV has a new series - "Classic Albums". I caught my first episode last night, The Doors - S/T. Great show, I hope they are all this good.
Draggon Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 (edited) Mean Mary James. I don't like all of her stuff, but I think this is great, and I'm not even a banjo fan. Scroll to 4:00 for a pickers' version of speed metal. https://meanmary.com/ Edited July 27, 2017 by Draggon
