bobthehobbyguy Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 My resolution is to get some of my many projects wrapped up this year. Will be digging through the pile and create a list to work from.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't know yet. Get something done? I'm starting to get a little discouraged with the whole thing...
Harry P. Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 No resolutions. For me, building models is a hobby, not a necessity... so no rules, no resolutions.
cartpix Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I want / need to revamp my hobby room, get the spray booth, I built, vented, so I can start using it, & stop being so OCD, ADD, perfectionistic, & building over my head / skill level, so I can stop shelving & finish more than the 2, I finished, this year. Jeff
Ramfins59 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Yeah, like Harry said, it's a hobby not a necessity...... however I think I'd go nuts if I couldn't do it. I'll keep on trying to build them better and cleaner.
Danny Lectro Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Not something I had put much thought into before I read your question, but I want to keep building, keep learning, hopefully keep getting better, and try to enjoy the hobby without getting burned out.
moparfarmer Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 To get my model building mojo back..Built the first in 15 yrs..A bag-n-build 68 Mustang Shelby..Terrible kit..Didn't paint it or anything..Just put it together to see if I still could..Left/right hand co-ordination wasn't perfect due to stroke in 1998 but forced it to work together..Didn't come out bad, no glue marks or finger marks..Next I will try to paint and paint detail..Looking forward to doing it..As long as its fun, if it isn't I'am outa here...

charlie8575 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Build more. Build better. Get permanent building quarters established someplace in the house that isn't the basement. Charlie Larkin
bbowser Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 It's a hobby, something to pass the time. I hope to get cleaner, better paint work, and expand to different type subjects.
Snake45 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 As everyone else said, to get more building done. I have dozens of projects "started" (I am just a horrible person). I'd be very pleased if I could get between 8 and 12 of them actually FINISHED this year. That said, and more specifically: 1. I made a list last summer of a whole bunch of aftermarket stuff I need from Modelhaus and others. I need to sit down and actually ORDER all that stuff. 2. I've accumulated a couple dozen '63-'67 Sting Rays, with plans to do a complete series of stockers, plus several customs and racers. I'm gonna try to get at least one or two of these done this year, prolly one of the customs.
disabled modeler Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) For some of us it is just a hobby but to others its more than that its a means of keeping occupied with time to pass by so we don't loose our sanity...LOL! Maybe to find the stuff my dads oldies need so I can restore them.... Id be happy to just keep waking up and having something to do...LOL... Edited January 1, 2015 by disabled modeler
oldnslow Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Finish inventorying the remaining kits packed in boxes and get to build more.
DumpyDan Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I am going to try to motivate a good friend of mine to get back to building, he has been in a rut for quite a while.
MeatMan Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Be better at it than I was last year, which could definitely use improvement. I don't resolve to get a paint booth but its on my to do list.
atomicholiday Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I don't do resolutions, but when I do... wait a minute. I'm starting to sound like a beer commercial. As was said above - "build more, build better." That's been my only goal all along and that's why I'm here. I guess I'd also like to look into building a WWII warbird in plastic. B-17 maybe?
Roadrunner Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I usually resolve to finish more projects, but I seem to suffer from being too easily dist,... Oh look, a butterfly.
peekay Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Kevin, it's posts like that that make me wish there was a Facebook-style "like" button here. I'm the same - if I were to make a resolution it wouldn't last into next week.
Snake45 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I usually resolve to finish more projects, but I seem to suffer from being too easily dist,... Oh look, a butterfly. Hey, let's ride bikes!
mikemodeler Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 I have decided to focus on some theme builds in 2015 and will work towards that but hope to clear off the WIPs on the workbench before I do. I spent time this week working on them and was surprised to see so many of them really close to being done so hopefully I can get to the theme build soon! I will also be thinning out my stash as I have some models that I have lost interest in and plan on getting rid of. I am sure that will be offset with some of the expected releases so not sure how many kits I will actually get rid of! LOL!
Sixx Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 To get out of my non-building funk!!! Need to build!!!!!
