Harry P. Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Real or model? Remember, if you know the answer for sure (you know the source of the photo), don't post it here! It ruins the game for everyone else. The answer: MODEL!
customsrus Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 (edited) maybe it's both. It is real and maybe it's a model. Edited March 2, 2015 by customsrus
Matt Bacon Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I'm going to say real. Beautifully looked after and in concours condition, but real... bestest, M.
sjordan2 Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 Whatever it is, this car is probably responsible for my interest in model cars. When I was a small kid, my Dad took me to a toy store where I found a gray metal XK 120 that I really wanted. But at about $8, he thought it was too expensive and my disappointment was huge. This was in the early to mid-50s. I've probably been compensating ever since (and yes, I have a Monogram metal kit in my stash).

mrindy77 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 (edited) Real....but frankly, Harry, I don't give a darn. Edited March 5, 2015 by mrindy77
Lunajammer Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 The gaps seem a little too wide for a meticulously manufactured sportster. I'm going with model.
otherunicorn Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I certainly has the model vibe, but I still think it is real.
horsepower Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Going model this time, something just looks like it's painted in the separation of colors on the seat.
Sixties Sam Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I'm going with real. Looks too good for a model. Sam
gbdolfans Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I am going with real on this one. This one is very hard to tell,Harry. Something about the emblem on the hood and the ones in front.
my66s55 Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 I'm going with real on this one. I'm not gonna say why.

mikemodeler Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 I am sure Harry will tell us the answer soon. He was probably out celebrating the fact that it got above freezing today in Chicago!
Belugawrx Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 (edited) Harry,.. IT'S FRIDAY AND I WANT YOU TO TELL ME IT'S A MODEL oh sorry I just noticed the blue star Mybad Edited March 7, 2015 by Belugawrx
mrindy77 Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015 Originally painted Suede Green, the car was re-sprayed to Gable’s specifications. Its unique color is known as ‘Gable Grey’ and it was actually mixed by Roger Barlow and Clark Gable. Best in Class at Pebble Beach 2012 and well deserved...she's a real beauty Clark.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Harry's probably out driving his new Mustang. This could take a while...(sound of crickets).
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 8, 2015 Posted March 8, 2015 Maybe there's some doubt as to whether the photo is in fact model or real.
