Thank you. It was kind of funny, I was the only person that he really bonded with. He’d get in my lap and sleep or just hang out. He would tolerate my wife and others but that was about it.

Do you also have 1:1 project cars?
RSchnell replied to ctruss53's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Dave is a cool dude. A fun week of messing around with old Fords, trading ribald jokes, and eating at all the hole in the wall restaurants in the area! -
Hope Tom returns. steve

It was great to meet you and I am glad to see how well you and Dave took to each other. That front clip and decklid you scored are awesome. Can't believe that sheet metal sitting outside for 70 years survived so well. -

No problem. And by printer, I mean printing company. If you do Facebook, Joe has a page where he gives status and offers up available decals. -

Thanks to fellow forum member @Rodent I'm now the owner of one of my bucket list cars. What started out as a simple "hey a friend of mine has a car or two you may interested in", resulted in me flying out to California from Florida this past Monday and spending the past week getting it ready to bring back to Florida. I'd been looking for a factory yellow/black '55 Ford convertible project. It's a project but it has all the right stuff- power windows, power seat, V-8, automatic but I will convert it to manual transmission. A big thanks to Steve and our mutual friend Dave for providing some great California hospitality to this old Southern boy. - Today

It was a pleasure to meet you as well Steve! Nice to put a face with the person responsible for me dropping copious amounts of cash and getting not just one, but two cars across the country. LOL. Like I told you earlier, you can now claim the award for being the first forum member I've met in person.

Moebius 1/25 1964 Mercury Comet K-code
Robberbaron replied to Justin Porter's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Discussion on cometcentral.com: https://www.cometcentral.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17013 These guys are saying only 20-21 of the "A/FX" style hoods were made later in the '64 racing season and given to the teams that were campaigning the A/FX Comets. Apparently the A/FX cars were all originally shipped from Dearborn Steel Tubing with the Thunderbolt-style teardrop hoods. I'm sure no expert on these cars, but the guys posting in the above thread seem pretty legit. Hemmings article also mentions the same thing regarding the hoods: https://www.hemmings.com/stories/x-marks-the-spot-1964-mercury-comet-calliente/ So no, doesn't seem like the dual-scoop hood could be correct for a true factory stock build. -
I have been communicating with forum member RSchnell for a while (I know what the "R" stands for!) and I finally met him today and we hung out for a while. Really nice guy. "That's nice", you say, but I live in California and "R" lives in Florida. Where and why did we hang out? Watch the 1:1 project car thread for more information 🙂 I will let him post the pics.

Bronco to go under cover….

Cool project! Best of luck in the contest. I overheard the owner of a restored Bronco at the Williams show say he would take $150,000 for it, he wouldn't drive it on dirt. So don't go too overboard. 🙂 -

The iPhone weather app [bleep] is useless: This is an 8 inch rain, between drops. 🤪 They were big too! For about 15 seconds. The little blue dot is Dewey, which got nailed with hail over 1" diameter. It did rain a little, less than 1/4". I got a got shower on the walk to the field bench. There are several lightning caused wildfires at the moment.

Obviously had a senior moment many years ago when I was young, I've just removed the alternator seen in the previous pics. Dave B

Right now I don't even have a 1:1 running car. Acadia ate the alternator, now it wont start after replacing. The loaner ran for about a week, and it wont start now either. -

That grayish blue is not the best color for this car but it's a personal favorite of mine. But I did get a bottle of "Coral Mist" to paint another one of these. It's very light. -
