  2. There might be another thread of this but I couldn't find it. So, what else do you like to build? In the summer months I hate to be inside so I don't do much modeling. I do like working on old cars, gardening with my wife and building stuff out of old wood, leftover scraps, old deck boards and pallets. Here are a some things I've built, lets see some of yours!
  3. I am looking to trade for all the stock Flathead V8 engine pieces from the AMT 1/25 1949 Mercury kit, (any release/reissue of this kit). They can be fresh from the tree or from a built-up if in good restoreable condition, (not interested in a complete kit). I have a fairly deep parts box to trade from. I am in Illinois.
  4. What a great build, well done
  5. Might be time to bring this one back into circulation at the bench.
  6. Lookin so good, love that detail
  7. you got the link? i would like to ck it out.🙂
  8. Are there any other Revell kits that have been molded with out Chrome Parts? Or is it just these two kits? If it is just these two kits, I'm not worried that this is a trend. Let's wait and see if any others are sold with out Chrome before it becomes too big a Thing.
  9. I am building Buddy Baker's 1988 Red Baron Olds. I shaved the roof rails, and removed the side skirt to backdate it.
  10. Worked my zoids this morning using Calico Resistance Method

Looking good. Im liking the blue.
  12. Thanks Paul. Im slowly getting there.
  13. Welcome aboard.
  14. Too, 1964 was back before any emissions regulations other than a PCV. A performance-oriented Mercury dealer could have obtained the parts and installed them prior to (or just after) delivery, same as a Ford dealer could have done with a Falcon.
  15. Thanks! The details on the dash are actually pretty easy. Scroll up in the post and you'll see the printed images I purchased to use for the dash details. Bart

    Thanks Michael!
  17. Revell skipped the chrome on the recent reissue of the '85 Z28, too. I'm sure it's a time/cost/process saving step to eliminate the plating, but whatever the case, it also happens to be accurate. Neither the '85 Camaro nor the '85 Fiero have chrome wheels (or valve covers or alternator, for that matter). The only thing "missing" the chrome plating in those kits are the mirror faces, and that can be handled in a jiffy with some BMF or Molotow. As for the Stranger Things Camaro, the only thing on the 1:1 car that was chromed were the wheel trim rings and center cap. Yes, it would have been nicer for some to have the wheels plated for ease of painting, but honestly, that's not going to be a deal breaker for most people buying that kit. And I think that's the point. In this economy, companies are going to do whatever they can to cut corners while still getting us to buy product. So yeah, the bottom line is literally the bottom line. Revell saves a few pennies by skipping plating on some of their kits where it's not "needed". The accuracy crowd cheers. The convenience crowd complains. Some modelers don't care. And the Don't Like It, Don't Buy it crowd says...
  18. Okay on all Tony. I had used Tamiya masking, but have found that when I remove it, the paint underneath is scored. So I have gotten afraid to put any kind of masking over paint. At least Tamiya Acrylics. But I will try BMF as masking tape. Someone mentioned Parafilm, but didn't say which type of Parafilm, as there are several types.
  19. Welcome to the forum Michel
  20. Someone who had a 'hip' dealer who was tuned into what L-M was doing, or knew folks within Ford might have been able to score one. Edwards in Lansing, Pfeiffer in Grand Rapids, Sachs in Downey CA... maybe even Mulligan in Detroit would be able to move the paper mountain enough to get the order through the system. A good friend of mine has a black/black '64 that he bought from a Ford employee, super low miles, secured under the promise he would not hot rod it. It looks like an HP, but last time I saw it was just as a lot of scholarship on the "K" vs. "D" was surfacing so it was hard to tell for sure.
  21. Glad to see you got something done on this Kit! The linkage and fuel lines turned out awsome.
  22. Very nice. The whole diorama just comes to life. Simpler times. Thanks for sharing these!
