slusher
We sure don't need to lose them. They are so great at what they do...
Art Anderson
Yes, that's true, but Don and Carol started casting parts in 1982--35 years is a long time to do that.
1972coronet
I hope that they get a load of rush-last-minute business . I also wish them the best of times in their retirement .
ChrisBcritter
Oh boy. My heart sank when I saw the heading - "please don't let this be Modelha...aw, dammit." Better get my order in... Edited March 8, 2015 by ChrisBcritter
Atmobil
Really sad, I guess I have to order what I can before that date then.

Foxer
This is a great loss to the modeling community, but a great business opportunity for someone that could keep the quality up. Someone please buy this and fund Don and Carol's retirement!
southpier
really ... no well wishes for the hard working couple? i say "good for them" and hope they enjoy another 35 years doing whatever makes 'em happy. let's not be so self centered. mikemodeler
I am glad to hear Don and Carol have plans to retire and enjoy life. I don't begrudge anyone the chance to retire and like already stated, hopefully they have many years of fun. Not sure what the future holds for their business, but if someone could continue their legacy that would be the best scenario for us modelers. Tom Geiger
Best wishes to Don and Carol! At least they gave us some notice! I had heard that they had adult children involved in the business, so I was hoping it would continue within the family.
disabled modeler
I do wish them the best...they have helped many with restorations and family mementos over the years...just hope someone will fill the void.
FordRodnKustom
I wish them well in their deserved retirement and I appreciate the almost 2 year advance notice, plenty of time to save up my lunch money to get the stuff I want/need. As mentioned above perhaps they can sell the business. Thank you Don and Carol for your impeccable service and products. Roadrunner
I'm not real sure I've ever seen any of their products. As someone who has but recently reentered the model car scene, I tend to go with whatever is in the box.
59-Desoto
Arthur Anderson posted this morning in many of the modeling groups on FaceBook this message ( Daniel Lynch posted this up here on FB Saturday, from ModelHaus: "Projected retirement is 05/2017. We want the modeling community to know in advance. However, we fear we will be slammed with orders.) Carol Holthaus The Modelhaus"
Ace-Garageguy
I'm happy for anyone who makes it to retirement. If you have your own business, it's hard to walk away sometimes...but a feeling of obligation to your customer base shouldn't overshadow your right to enjoy your later life free from business responsibilities...especially when you've been making very high quality stuff and happy customers for a long time. I wish them all the best. I also need to get on the stick and buy their resin kits and parts I've got on the list of "must-haves" while there's still time. Dennis Lacy
Looks like it's time to stock up on a couple C-notes worth of hot rod tires. There's no other source like 'em!
espo
I agree that it is great that they are able to retire, they have done so very much for many of us. I also hope that they can find someone to takeover their business and continue supplying all of the itty bitty parts and conversions that has made them so resected in our hobby. Thru the years I have used so many of their products and they have always been of the best quality each and every time. I wish them well, and long life. 1972coronet
http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?kit=1 I've bought a number of reproduction / replacement parts for the MPC 1972 Road Runner (conversion parts for the 1971) , and other trinkets for other projects . One of the best attributes to their repro parts ---plated pieces in particular--- is the complete lack of runner-attachment-points ! Just a completely plated part with zero need to touchup attachment points
Rob Hall
Wow..sad to hear. I've been buying parts for restorations and kits from them for about 20 years now..

58 Impala
Noooo! Really, I wish them well. I'll have to try and stock up on some items, especially their tires and wheels. Hopefully someone buys the business and continues offering their outstanding products.
pharoah
I've ordered from them several times over the years. Very high quality resin, and great tires. I've only had one part that was bad,and they replaced it with no problem. Going to have to order some parts...
