Any one of these three; Paasche H or VL, or my Iwata Revolution CR, not a top of the line Iwata, but it works fabulously, and was within my budget at the time. I used a Badger 350 for many years, but it eventually died, so I stepped up to the Paasche H as a replacement. We painted a zillion paint masters for the toy industry with the H model, so I became sold on it, it's a very utilitarian tool.

Whats the weirdest kit in your stash?
Roadrunner replied to mustang1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1:385th, what an odd scale. How's the kit? -
I have both a 150 and 200. Had both for years, and as far as I recall, never used either. I've heard folks say they get real good results with both though. Have fun.

Gorgeous models. I can only aspire to make mine look so cool.

Looks great. I'm planning on doing two; one as a street rod, and one stock as it would have appeared in the 30's. I like your use of the lighter green for the windshield frame, I'm considering flat black for mine.

Lack of motivation to build
Roadrunner replied to MPi-KM's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yep, finishing is one of my great problems as well, I'm a wonderful starter though. -
Modeling things you hate/love
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Love: Airbrushing, decaling, photographing. Hate: Blood, attaching tiny bits of plastic or P.E., dust. -
What? This ain't the 15 items or less lane.
Roadrunner replied to Greg Myers's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
There's one that runs around here, produced (as I understand it) by a local company that manufactures real shopping carts, and is used as a promotional and marketing tool. -
What non-auto model did you get today?
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Oh yes, their 1:32 Ju 88A-4 is outstandingly cool. Tamiya pops to mind. Most of their 1:48 scale stuff, especially the newer generation kits, are well detailed and engineered, generally accurate, and basically fall together with very little effort. -
It's actually pretty cool the way it is I think, but I certainly appreciate the offer. If I'd ever get off my dead behind, I have Photoshop, with about 250 additional filters, and I'm sure I could figure it out. Besides, wall space is at a premium here, so I'm very selective about what I display.

Doyusha did a few Japanese Castle models. I've never owned one (yet), but may hunt one down eventually. -
Help needed in identifying car
Roadrunner replied to Roadrunner's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yea, I'm afraid a two door isn't going to make it. Not one of my favorites that I owned anyway, so I'll just do without. Thanks, fellas. -
Your worst builds
Roadrunner replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Perhaps the worst I can recall, is the Big Duece, body sprayed with metalflake green, frame and engine left bare yellow plastic. I have a Polaroid of it around here somewhere. Built when I was perhaps 14 or so. -
I do like that shade of green. Very classy. I'd like to do a stock '32 one of these days.

My first WIP here; '70 Dodge Challenger T/A, Parts
Roadrunner replied to Roadrunner's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Slight change in plans here. Since the rest of the car is 100% stock (except the color), I've decided to also use a stock hood. Here it is getting prepped for paint. It also appears that there's little chance I'll have this finished by the 3rd as intended, and even if it were, as it turns out, I can't go anyway. Just another disappointment in a long string of disappointments. -

Might as well just buy a Sherman. -
Though I've yet to see an unbuildable kit, I have had a few that were so frustratingly bad, that they ended up either having a high speed collision with my basement wall, or were stomped to death on the floor.

Whats the weirdest kit in your stash?
Roadrunner replied to mustang1989's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Odd, I've never been a fan of the Donks, yet I did buy two diecasts (Mustang and Charger) that were so cool looking in the box that I just had to have them. Now I can't seem to even give them away, not that giving them away is a desirable option. -

They can still be found on "the bay" from time to time, but as you say, they can get sort of pricey. Still, bargains can be had. I'll probably add a few of the guns and grenades back to my stash, "one of these days". -
Inspire Solvent-Based Paints
Roadrunner replied to fseva's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
$387.25 per gallon seems pretty steep to me too, much worse than the typical Testors spray paints, that come in at right around the $192 per gallon range, as delivered. -

Nope, Yak-9, Eduard weekend kit. I was doing it (and a dozen or so more), as ceiling queens, like these three, but abandoned the project a few months ago when I moved out of my house. Good call. -
Some great looking Cuda models here. I'll have to have a go at the Revell kit, and see what's what. If mine turns out as nice as some here, I'll be a happy guy.

41 Chevy pickup
Roadrunner replied to Xploited's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I do like that color. I'll be using the same on a '32 Vicky I have coming up.
