  1. Actually, I can send you the whole pdf manual if you send me your e-mail address. It's 14 MB, but it got through on a test I made. sjordan47@comcast.net
  2. I have a ton of PII reference, so ask if you need something. These are from my original owner's manual, with a lot more illustrations.
  3. Has anybody built the 1/16 Bandai/Entex XJ-S? The body looks pretty good to me, though the US headlights are a little sloppy.
  4. I asked several years ago and got a photocopy that was cut off at the bottom. Now that I'm getting serious about it, does anyone have a clean set of instructions for this 1/16 kit?
  5. The only reason I found it was to infer that it was electric, based on the background.
  6. Remember what Harry did with the 1/16 Rolls Phantom III? Seems you could do the same with the Packard sedan.
  7. Wow. You really did your homework, and the copper brake drums are often overlooked on models.
  8. Outstanding work. An unusually authentic kit.
  9. I filled out that part with dismantled watch parts from eBay.

  11. I have tons of 1:1 reference. Let me know if you have questions.
  12. I never participate in a topic called "What Irked You Today?" but I'm getting a stream of e-mail forwards from this site. Anyone else?
  13. The Beverly and Westchester sedans (only basic difference was sedan interiors) were longer and higher than the Sportsman 2-seater (AMT 1/24 and 1/12 scale kits) and Phaeton 2+2 (Revell/Monogram), and you're correct about the difference in the number of grille bars. What kit would you be starting with?
  14. I go with what the manufacturer says (except for Jaguar) because they should know. (I was a bit miffed at "Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist" this week when an architect offered to take her for a spin in his "Porsh.") It's not haughty to get it right.
  15. Beautiful, spectacular. Haven't seen a better one, but wonder why you chromed the trim around the door top/cockpit instead of the typical leather.
  16. Great to see that one again. Best ever of that kit.
  17. Have you tried the 1/16 XJ-S?
  18. I hate to dispute the Maserati, but its inaccuracies have really perplexed me on how to fix them. The leading edge of the roof line at the windshield curves upward when it should be pretty straight across, and the nose shape at the grille is way off – needs to be brought forward. Engine detail isn't much better, but it's easily fixable (if you don't do wiring – It has 2 plugs per cylinder.) Interior detail needs to be made more accurate. It can look great if these issues are conquered.
  19. I'll guess you may have seen color photos of the Type D at the Tazio Nuvolari museum. https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/tazio-nuvolari-s-museum/aQG4AoJxHLujEQ Here's video of a restored Type C with a decent engine shot.
  20. A beautifully restored red '62 just went for $110K at Mecum.
  21. Great job, especially on the chrome trim. They had a red one like this at the recent Mecum auction, which went for big bucks. Meanwhile, I don't know about how others' threads look, but I was distracted by an earlier ad in the thread showing Brigitte Bardot getting her purse out of a 50s Lancia Aurelia.
  22. Harry finished it. It's on page 42 of his book, The Evolution of the Automobile In Scale. Also in this old thread:
