Steve Steve, the tires are the kit tires using the Firestone decals that came on the sheet. The red is Model Master Burgundy Red Metallic and the White is Testors One Coat 1833 White Lightning it is a pearl white. Both shot over white primer. The tires just seemed a little too nice to be the kit tires, although the Revell wide whites are miles above the AMT ones. Really? That's Honduras Maroon? I didn't think that was even a metallic color. Or isn't it? It sure looks metallic in the photos. Really nice looking color! It looks pretty close to correct "Copper Maroon". Another clean, beautiful build. The 2 tone paint perfectly captures the quiet class and grace-in-simplicity styling of those ole shoebox chivvies. Steve Steve, I could be wrong on the red. It is a metallic paint that I used. Evidentally must have used it all as I have no others in the cabinet. It may have been Burgandy Red Metallic. I like the way you put the white stripe on the wheel covers, then highlighted the bow tie emblems (not too many people notice that). If you're going to be doing some more '55s, consider carefully sanding off the backside of the grille with a Dremel/sanding drum combo to open it up.
