Sport Suburban Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Here is another one I finished up this year. Another restoration as well. This is a 72 Pontiac Grand Prix. I really like the 69 and 70 version better but had to finish up the set buy doing the 71 and 72 cars. I had collected a few builders to make a few good ones. This one landed in my lap as an unbuilt kit so it was an easy build. I had the chrome redone but everything else was good on this one. I really like the color combo on this one. This was one of the preprinted versions. I did strip it and redo it.
Sport Suburban Posted January 3, 2019 Author Posted January 3, 2019 Here are my other two 72s that I had. The white one I still have and it may be a Hurst version someday. The silver one I traded off to a friend.
Geno Posted January 3, 2019 Posted January 3, 2019 Man, that's sweet Raoul, I love the 69-72 Grand Prix as well, I've owned several 1:1 versions.
StevenGuthmiller Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Absolutely gorgeous! I have a bit of a soft spot for this GP body style owning a '69 myself. Bought it fresh out of high school & I still have it today. I had a good friend in high school that had a triple white '71. That's a lot of white! Steve
ismaelg Posted January 4, 2019 Posted January 4, 2019 Another cool rescue! Love the superb paint job.
Sport Suburban Posted January 6, 2019 Author Posted January 6, 2019 Thanks everyone. This one was an easy build only because I started with a nice unbuilt kit. Sometimes it is easier to buy a complete unbuilt kit at just over $100 than the rebuilders. I bought the three rebuilders between 50-75 each and was still trying to find some parts for these. But once they are past the 1/2 way point and I’m enjoying what I’m building I forget all about the money. And that is what this is all about!
RAMBENNA Posted January 7, 2019 Posted January 7, 2019 looks awesome, you did a great job. I love these cars wish AMT or MPC would reissue them
carrucha Posted January 20, 2019 Posted January 20, 2019 Cool Grand Prix. Nice to see a model you don't usually see on this forum.
