Oddball one-off custom/hot rod/kit car

This is an odd one....

While working at Hobbico I did some business with a guy in California. One of his side businesses was contract building scale replicas for court trials (buildings, street scenes, crime scenes, etc.) as well as models for movies, TV, etc. He found out that I built/collected models and sent me this one for my collection. It was carved from wood and was a styling model for a 1:1 kit car company that never got off the ground. It is somewhat crude, but interesting.

Thanks for sharing, that's really cool!  Great lines and flow. The tires are maybe a bit too chunky, but the intent is clear. I like the swooping beltline, rolled-under fenders, and the taillight integration is pretty clean!  This concept is clearly from the era of the Chrysler Atlantic, Ford Ka, Pronto Cruiser, Plymouth Prowler and other retro-styled concept cars that were so prevalent (and refreshing!) at the time. I see some 90s Dodge Viper in there, too.

It also reminds me somewhat of the other mag's August '99 cover car:
