This build has been on the go for many months and was inspired by a local car here in Napier and a similar one I found online. It's a Belkits 1/24 Ford Escort rally car painted with Tamiya Aluminium and Dark Racing Blue spraycans. The model is box stock apart from a slight lowering. Still undecided about adding some racing decals, I quite like it as a weekend warrior. 20191219_105738.thumb.jpg.9f5a1938deb858f31fcae0f7f997f936.jpg20191219_105753.thumb.jpg.487414da0b70259ce3971377064e8c8e.jpg20191219_105837.thumb.jpg.d975fb50792ef01b7f429d6bec9e1404.jpg20191219_105856.thumb.jpg.b44e31f6a83ba2007f0a26d5f6590b10.jpg20191219_105920.thumb.jpg.c6006b2f187edf8a04551f4400ecd58b.jpg

Nice. A rear wheel drive escort?

Yes Lee, both the Mk1 and Mk2 were rear wheel drive.

Very nice Escort. Looks great without the decals. I've been very curious about these kits for some time now. It looks like they build up very well. Nice work.

I really need to get a couple of these, one of which I would build as a weekend warrior, similar to yours.

Great looking build. I like the paint treatment as well. I've seen these on You Tube Vintage Rally racing. They are still the terror they always were.
