I sandblasted the tires for the Bronco I’m slowly working on. Then detailed the rims and hubcaps.

Those look terrific.  Sandblasting you say?  Looks much best than just sanding the treads.  More realistic since it gets down into the tread pattern.?

Yeah, actually I have crushed glass in the cabinet now, but it all works pretty similar. On the set above I shielded the sidewalls with washers. The set below got the full treatment. I like the look…especially for truck tires.?

Got some done on this. Its not to any high standard. I have just been brush painting everything for the eaze of just building instead of making a big project with AB or Cans. Body is of course AB but its not done yet, My compressor from a cheap store quit on me yesterday so i ordered a new one made for general purpouse, 6l tank and low noise, 57db, for around $200 with shipping, a steal, hope it works well!

Most of the chassi is done, need to paint the seat so i can finnish the interior and then slap it together.

Body is now painted with Model Master Chevy engine red (Hugger) and will have black accents similar to the corvette shown above.

I don't often post in this thread but I felt pretty good about how this paint job came out.  It's Createx gold base and Createx transparent red top coat, Tamiya clear.

That looks great! And I have a feeling in person that color looks even better, sometimes pics don’t really capture the color.

You are correct Tom, it looks like pearl red.   And thanks!

Sundays are shaping up to be my most productive days at the bench.
Got two more bodies in primer, shot two test panels to check out a couple of colors, painted the firewall, grill, and undercarriage of a GTO kit, and (probably the biggest news of the day) FINALLY rubbed out the finish on my Camaro project.

Sorry, no pics at this time.  Most of the stuff is drying. I’ll update the Camaro wip soon.

Shot color on these two yesterday.  I think I’m going to wet sand the gold one level and reshoot 1-2 more coats.  It sprayed kinda weird.  You could see metal flakes flying off in the sun.  Almost like they were bouncing off the panels.?

Both are Testors extreme lacquer.  The blue is Deja Blue.  The other is Inca Gold.

I actually tried something different with the blue one this time.  I shot three light coats, let it set up for a few days, then wet sanded it with 4000.  Then yesterday I foiled the emblems and hit it with two wet coats.  Picked that technique up from one of our esteemed colleagues.?

Opinions, comments, and constructive criticism welcome as always.  Thanks for looking!

That was a good idea, building up the color first then the wet coats......... Wet coats are how you get slick paint, it looks like it worked for you!  B)

I got the red surround stripe added to the cowl, applied the decals (plural, because I doubled them, due to translucency) and mixed a little bit of 40-year-old Humbrol Brass and Gold, and brushed that on, to bring out the lettering. Then I shot the works with Krylon Crystal Clear Glaze. I'll have to see if I can sand a little thickness off the decal area. No matter--I am very happy with these results. As always, they look better naked-eye.

I haven’t had time to work on anything lately due to some other things going on,but I did finish up the surfboards for the Hasagawa VW Samba I’ve been working for the last several months this afternoon. The surfboards are the short boards from two AMT 65 Chevelle Wagon kits. The stripe decals are from the same kit decal sheet and the Sex Wax and Ron Jon Surf Shop decals were made by The Decal Lady

Another project I started several months ago that I worked this evening. Its the Revell 71 442 kit.Going to be a box stock build. The color is going to be Tamiya TS-92.Interior is going to be white. I still need to paint the frame black and mask the gas tank off to be painted. The 71 North Carolina license plate is from Best Model Parts.

Whole full size Escalade to Kei Car front fascia conversion, Scanned the body then scaled a escalade front end then cut the escalade front end into pieces.

Between last night and this afternoon, I accomplished quite a bit (for me anyway).

Yesterday, I shot clear on my Vega project.  Also put a GTX (not pictured here) into primer.

Today I got my Chevelle in clear coat, and shot grey primer on another job.

If the weather holds, I’m hoping to shoot color on the GTX tomorrow afternoon.
