I've always wanted to build a diorama of the 007 Aston-Martin under construction at "Q" branch: .303 machine guns on the workbench for the fenders; trunk open with the oil/smoke tank being installed, etc. Maybe even a figure of Mr. Q himself... Aoshima did a special "Goldfinger" edition of its 1/24 Aston-Martin DB-5. It comes with figures of Bond and Oddjob, plus the famous attaché case and AR-7 rifle. The figures are in a separate box inside the kit box, with a black base. They are pretty nicely done. (Bad) pix below. The kit also has all the 007 doodads: bulletproof shield for the trunk, extending tire-slashers, revolving license plates, etc. It is a curbside kit with no engine. Back in 1992, Dave Worrall wrote a great book about the 007 Aston, "The Most Famous Car in the World." Along with lots of fascinating trivia, it included rare studio photos of the Aston being modified for its role in "Goldfinger." I was lucky enough to make some work trips to Japan in the 1990s and found a copy of that book in a Tokyo hobby shop, along with the very rare 34-page paperback supplement for it. It's Unobtainium these days and should be re-printed. That is awesome..! Id also like to make the 74 Hornet he took from the dealership to chase the bad guys in The Man with the Golden Gun...got to find one to do that with too...LOL..
Johnt671 Posted February 13, 2018 Posted February 13, 2018 Hobbylinc had the AMT 57 Ford kit on discount I picked one up, and a set of gasser wheels and tires to go with it. Maybe.

Modeldude428 Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Just Starting a NSX from tamiya should be fun
Bill Eh? Posted February 14, 2018 Posted February 14, 2018 Quentin, curious as to which Tamiya NSX kit you are starting. There are many NSX kits from Tamiya. They are all great by the way!

Did manage to get these in though, and the seam/mold line scraping tool at the bottom left, is OUTSTANDING!!.....HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
426 pack Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 (edited) This arrived today. It’s a clearly scale hellcat motor for a 68 Dodge Charger that I’m going to biuld as a replica of the Roadkill General Mayhem. Edited February 15, 2018 by 426 pack
ChrisBcritter Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Got some Smooth-On resin from a dealer over in Countryside today; thanks to Michael for all the advice - he really knows his product. I'm casting up the 1/24 scale T-bird wire wheels from the original Monogram '40 Ford pickup kit; they'll go on my Hubley '60 and '61 Ford wagons - also doing the wire wheels from the Car Craft Dream Rod for some future customs.

Very cool. And very rare, even brand new. I hope you open them up, give us a review and a chance to see them.
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 Brandydammnew, still in the shrink wrap from 1966. First thing I did was open it and have a look. The non-butchered parts and instructions will serve as a restoration reference for a gluebomb mess I got cheap some time back.
426 pack Posted February 15, 2018 Posted February 15, 2018 I got a cartoons magazine in the mail today

I was really surprised the price wasn't much more than it would probably list for if it was a current repop too. Decided to open it, in part because the seller made a point of saying "not responsible for contents of sealed kits". You never know. I recently bought an original sealed MPC Honda 750 street bike (which has been reissued fairly recently), and the hollow vinyl tires were so shrunk as to be unusable. The Revell Honda racer has the solid rubber tires...no shrink, no burn from where they've been in contact with other parts. I'm happy, and the rebuilt gluebomb is slated to go on a trailer behind this...
