  1. I dunno, seems at little rusty for that kind of money.
  2. A number of years ago Tamiya offered a number of their 1/24 slot bodies through their website, the King Cobra being one. Was lucky enough to pick up multiples of all the bodies offered at the time. Planning on restoring some of my vintage slot cars and turning some into static kits. They can be found on the auction sites but may be listed as "K" body (King Cobra) or "M" body (McLaren) etc... That's how they were listed through Tamiya, probably to avoid licensing. At the time they had reissued the Lotus 30 and 40, McLaren M1B, Ferrari 330 P2, Porsche Carrera 6, Lola T70 spyder and the King Cobra. Their '65 Plymouth was also listed but seemed to have sold out almost immediately.
  3. Ha! I see what you did there
  4. Looks like you're off to a good start, looking forward to seeing the result.
  5. I dunno, typically not into rat rods but I think it looks kinda cool. Almost like a 1:1 Keith Weesner painting.
  6. Awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Both that and the purple coupe were at the Chicago World of Wheels show a couple of years ago, very cool!
  8. Somehow I missed that, I usually check out the thread if it looks like there's something new. Your F-150 and track look awesome!
  9. Link to this is posted on page nine of this thread.
  10. Wow! Agreed, beautiful builds.
  11. Cool, where did you find it? More pictures of your track please! Redoing my basement/workroom and will hopefully be rebuilding my slot car track. Need to finish my shelving and reorganize my kit's and other stuff first. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to landscape it yet.
  12. Ditto, would be a great "one and done" re-release and return it to a stock '71/'72. Had the Superfly version and holds some nostalgia for me despite the goofy customizing. I remember watching the blaxploitation films of the early 70's and the cars the villains drove in Bond's Live and Let Die, this car certainly captures the look!
  13. That looks great, love the hood!
  14. Excellent, built one with my dad when I was young, brings back memories. Got a couple on the shelf and will eventually (hopefully) build another to replace it. My cousin got in my dad's display cabinet at a family event many years ago and destroyed a number of his models. Definitely one of Lindberg's better efforts, you did this one nice!
  15. Great job on a somewhat difficult kit! Great colour choice too.

    Well done, great colour choice!
  17. Yup, forgot about that one. Never picked one up since I had a couple of original kits.
  18. Since Atlantis seems to be willing to run subject matter that's certainly more niche market, smaller runs, etc... I'm looking at this as a positive since I'm sure some subjects may have been passed on if the old Revell didn't see enough potential numbers by running them. The existence of tooling, their condition and the issues with licensing being the hurdles.
  19. That's terrific news for those of us who build other subjects than cars. The most difficult part of this personally, is being patient while waiting to see what will be coming from this. Hopefully they will be able to run some of the Aurora tooled car kits is the molds still exist in serviceable shape. We've seen the Porsche 904 quite some time ago but I believe that was the last release of any of the Aurora stuff. They did a acceptable Chaparral that's never been reissued to my knowledge. The 1/32 hot rod stuff would be cool too, again if the tooling still exists.
  20. Atlantis did release the Monogram/Aurora large scale T-Rex under their name plus some other Aurora subjects but I believe Monogram ran it for them, interesting...
  21. Very cool to see something like this restored instead of just stripped, parted out or cast off to the junk box just because it was customized.
  22. Nice! Great save! If you're into stuff like this you may want to look at a Facebook group called "Scale Survivors" Lots of really cool stuff that's a window into building history.
  23. Monogram's 1:24 slot car Super Cobra Coupe. Vacuum formed but really nice! I believe Mini Exotics based a resin kit off of this.
  24. Oh, I have no illusions that cars were/are disposable and the photo is just a situation of the times. I think every generation will have "their" cars that will generate the same reaction. As a kid growing up up in the early seventies, 50's and 60's iron were the norm in junk yards and I thought nothing of it, looking at it now however... Besides by the time I was starting to work on my own cars the yards were stacked up with all varieties of old muscle cars.
