I would say they are focusing on making a return on these investments. -
Moebius Dodge pickup in the works?
Daddyfink replied to leafsprings's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When you are not bothering with all the parts, I.E. Detail, things move quite faster. And most die cast are done either super nice or very toy like, most leaning towards toy like. When die cast are converted into kits, the complaints pour in, but then again, that seems to be the norm in the model car world. -

I take it you have never dealt with Pegasus, or been to their shop in California. They are very much behind car builders and support our part of the hobby very enthusiastically. They are the go to shop in Southern California for Model Car builders. From kits to their own line of parts, they are not shy about being into cars. Give it time, I am sure they are working on something. -
The Pandemic, maybe? Considering that they where coming from China, that would pretty much slow them down, as we saw with other kits.

I only wanted one of these to add to the collection, but, it is one awful looking car. I also can not understand the attraction to this car. I know most of it is nostalgia, but, that can only go so far. -

Well, I could always hope. I knew that it was a slim chance they would exist when Tom West showed me the busted up parts of the mold that made the engine blocks. But, he did tell me that, to his knowledge, the Tire Molds never came back from Canada. So makes me wonder what is out there somewhere. I look forward to your book! -
And I think these will be mostly built by guys over 40 anyway! LOL!

I picked up about 4 of them. One every time I attended the California Hot Rod Reunion back in the late 90's until the vendor sold them off! LOL! The Revell large scale Drag stuff has gotten a bit more popular again due to the aftermarket catching up some with decals and parts. Especially tires to replace the notoriously disintegrating Revell tires! -

It was the Revell Jungle Jim Vega, and to be honest, Model King stuff was not that easy to find at the time. From what I know, the last Funny put out by Revell in 1/16 did pretty well thanks to newly tooled parts and new markings. -

The 1/12 and 1/8 style cars have a more world wide appeal, and I am sure Revell Germany would have no issue keeping them in the lineup. As for the 1/16, odds are they will probably be the Revell Drag Team cars, maybe, and it is a wild maybe, the Aurora Drag Parts kits. Monogram also had some pretty wacky large scale stuff, but I don't know if those molds survived all this time. -
Yes, it is the BRE Z with different decals. Nice kit for the time.

HEADS UP - Rommel's Rod
Daddyfink replied to Mike999's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Nobody is conspiring anything, he made his money already. Why can't the legal owners of the molds re-release them? They did it before and nobody complained. The only time we complained is when the molds where modified. -

Well, considering that most of TD designs where eventually re-issued without his name on the box, i don't see why Revell AG and continue selling them. Just switch to a more generic box, like Monogram did before, and Voila! It's back on the shelf! -

The ‘other’ mag is stopping publication
Daddyfink replied to cruz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well, considering that most Magazines had to stop publishing, and most where on the ropes already, this doesn't really surprise me. I bought two magazines last week and barely noticed that one is from March and the other from April! There is nothing really new out there anymore. -
No, only the two door. I thought for sure they would make one since they did it with the Pinto.

That is a nice build! I need to get off my butt and build one!
