It definitely looks allot like the Porsche 919 LMP1. It looks allot more modern than the Daytona Prototypes it is replacing.

Will Tamiya clear melt the basecoat ?
935k3 replied to Timonator's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Tamiya's Clear is pretty hot. It's possible if put on to wet. I would not any solid color paint, only metallics. I stop using their clear and switched to Testors Wet Look Clear. I have been very happy with the Testors but I usually airbrush it, -

Beautiful. I am surprised you could get away with spraying TS-13 over the acrylic paint. The color is great. How did you do the porsche letters on the tail light. I forgot about that. I will make a decal for that.

Pledge Floor Care, odd behavior?

You probably got too much on the brush. Try applying with makeup remover pads(shown below) by dipping them in Future and then damp most of it off on a dry paper towel, then wipe it on in one direction. Do not press to hard or you get dry spots. You can get the 80 to a pack at the dollar store. -

This one is done. The license plate was printed on photo paper then cutout. The small red lights above the exhausts are white decal with TS-27 Clear Red airbrushed over. The WIP is here 911 Turbo

I do use them sometimes but I find them harder than other paints to clean out of the airbrush completely.

You should workout fit problems before painting. The hinge geometry probably needs some work and some palstic needs added to make it fit. If you are painting it red you should a primer or base coat of white. The red will look much brighter and better.

Do you have the polarities right? The negative side is the shorter lead. To wire in parallel all negatives should be tied together and all positives should be tied together. Your 3V source has to be able to supply enough current to supply all the parallel circuits. If you wire in series by wiring each led's positive to the next ones negative which would be series you would need a 21 volt supply because you would drop 3V across each led. An led will not get brighter or darker with voltage changes. It will either turn on or off.

The interior is done. This was my first ever attempt at flocking. I used embossing powder. The entire gauge area of dash is a decal. I made dash panel cut from .010 styrene. to go over it and add some depth. I also made separate floor mats and door speakers. I need to find or make a radio decal for the dash.

I never depend on glue for chassis to body attachment. I have always found a mechanical solution that locks the body to chassis this takes care of any slight warpage and you do not have to mess with glue on a finished body.

The new Acura NSX GT3 car that will run in IMSA next year. I am sure there will be a model of this one in the future. I think it looks great.

I just got one last weekend. Very nice kit. I would like to see if after market decals come out for the French Labre team competing in the FIAWEC series.
