Got two great model kits in the last two days. Yesterday I got an MPC Ford GT40 MkIV from Brian Krusic. Thanks again Brian. Today I received the AMT Piranna Spy Car from Omni Models. Very cool kits, both. Scott

Two things, I love the looks of the car, and I received mine in the mail today. Opened it up and looks every bit as good as Tim said and shown it to be. I'm pleased. Scott By the way, does anybody out there have any experience building this kit? I'm still curious about how tough it is to assemble the roof, glass, and doors on this kit. That's the only part of the kit that worries me. I have not taken parts out of their bags yet to do a test fit. But, looking at the instructions, this looks like of those things that goes together better on paper than in real life. Is this a kit where getting the working doors to fit is really pain? And the same with mounting the windshield to the header and "A" pillars? Or is it easy, and I'm worrying about nothing? Again, somebody must have some hands experience with this kit? Is it easy, or hard to build? And are there other other areas to watch out for, that I'm not seeing in the instructions? Scott Still waiting to see if anybody knows anything about how to get car assembled successfully? Scott

This guy is off his rocker or is it just me.

I question whether that's real or photo shopped? Going through the rock opening just does look right to me. I don't know why? If it is real, the guy has got more money then sence as they say. It looks like a fairly costly stunt. And for what? Scott -
Heck with it. I went on Trosley's web site and ordered his Krass and Bernie book. I'm not sending my money to some guy in hopes that he can deliver a magazine down the road. Scott

Another nice one, Sven. Scott -
I ordered one on eBay yesterday. I can't wait. I keep on looking at Tim's review. The only part I'm little worried about is the roof and windshield setup. And putting together the roof and windshield, and getting the gullwing doors to work. It may be a bit of a challenger. The rest of it doesn't look too bad to me. Scott

I've found Testor's One Coat lacquer to be pretty good too. Scott -
reality vs fantasy

Impressive work, but not my thing. Real or model wise. Scott -
Sorry Justin, looking at the list of what's "on the bench" at the bottom of your posting, I have no interest in any of those cars. So I will not be looking at those kit when they are done. It's nothing personal. What your building is okay. It is just not for me. Scott

Got my 2014 Corvette promo today in the mail today. I also got two of the easiest model kits I've ever had the pleasure of building. Revell's SnapTite Build & Play 2015 Mustang GT (in yellow), and Revell's SpanTite Build & Play Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The simplest and quickest kits I've ever put together. Despite their easy of assembly, I like them both a lot. I saw the Jeep at the MCCM meeting, and liked what I saw. The detail and look is pretty good. The Mustang also looks very nice. But, unlike the Jeep which has a fair amount detail in the chassis. The Mustang has no detail in the chassis at all. It just a flat, smooth piece of plastic. But somehow that's okay. Both are curbsides that will look great sitting on the shelf. Both kits are recommended for ages 6 and above. I wish they would have had kits like this when I was 6. It's a good way to start in the hobby, and still get good results. I love it. Scott

I need help with paint
unclescott58 replied to hemihauler11's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Here I go again. The paint I mainly buy today is Tamiya. There's a lot cheaper paint out there, but none I've had as much success with. I too can get good paint jobs with cheap WalMart or others paint. But, I've also gotten some terrible paint jobs using cheap paint, including Testors enamels. In the long run, I think I save money using Tamiya's lacquer spray paint. I have yet needed to strip and redo a model I've painted using their paint. So far I've been very happy with every paint job I've even gotten from a can of Tamiya paint. They say you get what you pay for. For years I stayed away from Tamiya paint because of the cost. I regret that. Scott -
Looks very nice. Good job. Scott

Like others have said, "very nice Jim." You did a great job on my all time favorite Corvette. Scott

Wow! I really like the Caprice. Very nice. Scott

Post war Packards never get the appreciation they deserve. The Caribbean has always been a classy car. Nice job on the model. Scott

I've always liked the looks of the Toyota Century. I've never seen a kit of one before. Who makes it? Scott

Ray Hincks, is that last photo a Caprice or a DeVille? Either way, very cool. Scott
