Yea, I know of the Polar Lights Robot with Dr. Smith kit. But, when it comes to a subject like this, I wanted to go original old school. And that means the Polar Lights repop of the original Aurora kit with its hokey (part #2) "Electronic Ray" coming out of (part #25) "Right Arm Hook". Which always looked more like a flame of fire than an electronic ray to me. Just as the original show is part of my childhood, so is this kit of the Robot. There are much more modern, accurate, and better kits of the subject tooled up out there in recent years. But, they will never be part of my youth. I still can not find the "power pack". Actually referred to in the instructions as (part #5) the "Control Panel". I think it may have been permanently sacrificed to the "carpet gods". So if anybody has got an "extra". Please let me know.

Just finished building my Polar Lights Lost in Space Robot kit. And I'm pretty pleased with how it turned. Other than the Robot's power pack has gone missing. I was just painting it a couple of days ago. Without it, how am I going to give the Robot orders to cease and desist with his firing of his electrical bolts from his right claw? For that matter, I wonder how he's doing that without his power pack? Speaking of the power pack missing. Where is Dr. Smith?

The lower rear quarter panel, between the wheel well and the bumper, looks better, more right, on the AMT body vs. the Revell. I'm not sure on which one is right? But, the AMT lower rear quarter panel looks more right, IMO.

The first two kits I ever received and built with the help of mother, were Aurora's Dracula's Dragster and Frankenstein's Flivver. Got both at the same time, way back in 1965. A couple of years ago I picked up and built a copy the of Polar Lights repop of Aurora's Dracula's Dragster. Now I've decided it was time to add Polar Lights reissue of Frankenstein's Flivver. It arrived in yesterday's mail. Kooky Kool!

I need a James Bond Aston Martin DB5, to go with my recent Polar Lights James Bond 007 figure kit. I know they're not in the same scale. But, that's not the point to me.

What non-auto model did you get today?

Polar Light reissued the Bond kit last back in 1999. Yet it's not hard to find. I picked this one up on eBay for $32 dollars with shipping. If you want Polar Lights reissue of Odd Job, he seams to go for a bit more. Also last put out in 1999. I don't believe Polar Lights did a reissue of the Men from UNCLE kits. I don't think a lot of these figure kits there big sellers for Polar Lights. After their one initial reissue, they have not been repoped again. And, most of them are not that hard to find twenty years later. Sadly that time period may have been our one and only chance to get these kits new again. I hope I'm wrong on that. -

Models R-1 or R-2. The cockpit sit farther back on those two than on the model Z. Otherwise that and color, they look pretty similar. -

question about A/E Olds '66 1/25 442 W30 kit engine

Ah. Your right. I forgot that Toronados engines were painted that light metallic blue, rather than red of the Olds engines (except 442 of course). -

Okay. I got another '30s racing plane kit. This time Williams Bros.' 1/32 scale Gee Bee "Z" Racer. This one looks much closer to scale than Lindberg's larger 1/32 scale Gee-Bee (model R-1) Air Racer. I may have to hunt down Williams Bros.' 1/32 scale Gee Bee R-1 to match its Z sister better. But, here's some news. A none racing airplane model, or any old airplane model has also found its way into my collection, today too. I also got Polar Lights, ex-Aurora, James Bond 007 kit. And it's a model of my favorite Bond, Sean Connery. Someday I need find a DB5 to go with him. -
I got my '68 Chevelle back in January, from a vendor who brings and sells new model kits at our monthly MCCM meetings. As soon as I hear of something I'm interested in, I check and see if he'll be getting it. If he is, with his reasonable prices, I get those kits I want shortly after they are released. I have no interest in the Boss 302. But, our model dealer at the meetings has already had the kit available for others. So, I could have gotten one if I wanted.

It's not really two different engines. But, two different variations of the same basic engine. -

Big block? Back then an Oldsmobile V8 was one size block in variety of displacements. No big blocks. No small blocks. Just an Oldsmobile V8. A 442 400 basically looks the same as a Toronado 425. Color will be different. The 442 V8's in '66 were painted a bronze color. The 425 V8s, red. -

Another one. The Howard DGA-5, "Ike". A.K.A. "Miss Chevrolet". And a good companion for the Howard DGA-6, "Mr. Mulligan" that I got a couple of weeks ago. -
The Corvair Shuttle should be my collection soon. I hope. Another I'm looking forward too. I love those old kits that speculated on future space travel. As I've mentioned this before, I was sure as a kid, that I was going to be an astronaut. And had many great dreams of flying these type of vehicles.
