  1. The first bidder could see the second getting close to his bid so he raised his maximum bid. It doesn't change what shows as his current leading bid. I've had bidders raise their max bid two or three times if others were getting close. mike
  2. A gratuitous pair of pics showing '68 and '69 dashes... '68 and '69
  3. That's looking pretty fair but before the steel gets cut, there is one little teensy thing that could stand some finessing... The windshield has a distinct arch at the top, with the front drip rail reflecting this. The prototype's flat front roof is unfortunately visibly inaccurate. Ironically, the rear roof edge appears to have too much peak. mike
  4. Fourth shelf up, fourth from right might be a clue to how recent the pic is Compusoft is just north of Bower Mall beside Sims furniture and Wildside is in the old brewery complex on taylor drive. mike
  5. It's compusoft in red deer. Wildside hobbies has a similar selection but prices are a little lower. Even at general retail here, the prices are usually less than what online ordering with associated shipping and exchange amounts to. mike
  6. Agreed, got enough cheap stones 4x4s now Two fully stocked and current hobby shops in the red deer area, one aligned with computers/games and the other with r/c stuff are usually enough to keep me supplied. Always look forward to a visit to Chinook though for older stuff. mike
  7. Soooo... has anyone actually signed up to order one of these? mike
  8. you betcha... they'll be pretty much identical to the ones moeb supplies in their pickup kits. mike
  9. Here's Snake's famous picture of the original '68 amt body's rear wheel opening to aid in restoring the funny car body back to stock. mike
  10. How about a '68 wagon? m
  11. Just don't send one from the monogram '68 as it is apparently a '69 dash mike
  12. Already being discussed here... mike
  13. Great project, Mike. The grills and header may even be adaptable to the new '68 coming out. Now we just need a resin '68 GTO dash mike
  14. There's a good reason for that similarity... the '65 Comet chassis and engine compartment were borrowed from the '66 Fairlane /Comet kit with some details backdated to look more accurate. mike
  15. The extra set of leaf springs in the amt Stones 4x4 could work for the front axle and the dana 60 rear axle from the same kit completes the conversion. mike
  16. Wild rose country mike
  17. At least that new gmc looks better than the current iquana... seems like they alternate ugly between gmc and chev with the '07 restyle lost by chev with those chrome pontoons pasted on the front. mike
  18. The Nite package was just available in '91 and '92. AMT makes the correct flareside box for the '92; no need to fool with the incorrect '80 box. mike
  19. Great tutorial! Agrees fully with my impressions of the kit. mike
  20. I don't believe a rear step bumper was ever offered in the regular F-350 kits... maybe in one of the monster truck variations? mike
  21. This has sure been a fascinating look into the development and process of a long awaited subject Now I'm wondering if anyone's been working on a conversion of the '92 '96 (oops) into the more desirable '98-'12 CV... mike
  22. That's a great article and a beautiful car. I'd have to side with the owner regarding that vinyl roof... yeccchhh The team, tapes, camera and carving, did an excellent job of transposing the proportions to scale. mike
  23. Thanks Casey. The parts sharing on all these kits is probably 90% or better, allowing for varying grills, wheels and accessories. Cab nameplate engraving changed for the '77/'78 kits. mike
  24. Good thing I kept my catalogs for reference mike
