  1. The flawed fenders were harder to see with the '70 design. I'm hoping the correction went beyond just the headlight areas. Wonder if they maybe just did a quickie fix like this....
  2. Looks like maybe amt tooled up just the 500 and not the XLdoor panels... edit- upon closer reading of the brochure, it looks an upgrade option on the XL interior to the LTD style panels with the flow-through ventilation.
  3. Here's a rough view of the LRE springs...
  4. The 1:1 240/300s are identical in outward appearance anyways so you can pretend the moeb resin caster sourced six is either one 302s are also a valid engine for the F100/150 from mid-year '69 into the nineties. mike
  5. More info here... The 360/390 was replaced in the trucks in '77 by the 351M/400 engine. Good representatives can be found in the amt '78 bronco kit as well as the ubiquitous nascar t-birds. Decent reps of the real 429/460 can be found in the revell torinos and amt 69/70 galaxies. The 240/300 six would be usable for most all '65-'79 trucks. There is now currently available a regular wheelbase longbox from MAD resin. For reasons now obscure, the amt kits all represent the extended wheelbase F350 super camper special. mike
  6. Great art ! You can almost feel the thunder of that 421. The custom pic brings another of my favorites to mind... always loved the '50s/'60s industrial art, as well as a lot of the mcm architecture.
  7. … and I try to get one last tour on the old stx38 before the snow hits to chop them up so they break down easier. Why waste all those good nutrients? mike
  8. I only had a short frame handy for the pic but you can see that the rails in the front half are near identical with slight differences in the crossmembers. The front suspension crossmember for the 4x4 has higher shock mounts.
  9. This brought to mind a great vintage GM film...
  10. I'm sure they'll be very close, Mike. I'll have a side by side pic for you tomorrow. mike
  11. Wondered if anyone would catch that … talk about your 'cultural appropriation' mike
  12. Here's one in a '75 (south American market) F100. Gorgeous truck from the Pastore Collection in Brazil.
  13. X2! Hope revell actually took the time to get this one right. A line drawn across at the bottom of the headlights touches them all equally.
  14. If you're really ambitious to build the '68-'72 F600, the old R&R resin '72' will supply a reasonable but not totally accurate cab to swap in behind the M/L front fenders. And if you're really, really ambitious, you could use the moeb F100 cab. However, with the upper roof structure so noticeably out of proportion, you'll have to use the amt cab roof/windshield/cowl to correct it Good luck! mike
  15. Nice corrected amt F350 box from Mr Morgan and the new Hallmark '54 Mercury pickup
  16. Possibly the main reason for good sales of this subject... For some reason, I find absolutely no connection or nostalgic draw between this representation and the images formed in my mind from years of reading and re-reading the old hot rod mags and attending car shows. Good thing for the forum discussions that help one look beyond the hideous color and mickey mouse headlights. Yes, I ended up with a couple mike
  17. or Diplomats in 'Short Time'... mike
  18. That's great work on the headlight doors, Bill. With your fine-tuning around the headlights and profile, it will be an excellent piece Even more desirable with all three years available.
  19. Somebody's getting new floors and torque boxes for Christmas A recent spotting... One last afternoon ride before the winter nap mike
  20. Yessir, specifically the '79 Little Red Express in everything but name... mike
  21. Wasn't sure about availability but that fits the scenario; they were in the box of a pretty fair, well used '67 Merc 250 with a bale picker in the back. Got bid up to 3k The '67 was kind of an odd duck, with the new outer style but a number of carry-over parts from the '66. I've found about a dozen details unique to it as opposed to the '68-'72s. mike
  22. The F250 caps actually do exist with the earlier mounting flange but are pretty rare. Happened upon these at a farm auction. Thanks for the update, Dave, on the kits. The flareside looks pretty good but with four scale examples on the market already, I'd bet some were hoping to see the styleside first mike
  23. Not me … but I do see a 66/67 falcon/fairlane two door post influence. mike
  24. contrast of mpc tudor/sd, amt tudor and revell tudor bodies great reference pics on the hamb... https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-new-1932-ford-sedan-delivery-thread.850255/ mike
