Thanks, BMF was used on all except the Cougar scripts, those were dry-brushed with Testors silver. The plan was to do the foil under paint method for them but totally forgot to do it LOL. I'm not sure and not an expert by any means, but I think you may be correct. Thanks for the comments guys, I'm really happy with how she turned out.

Excellent build and tribute! Soooo clean!

Nice save and restoration. The stripes look good on these, never thought of that. I love these cars too, as I had a 95 LX, 4.6, white with blue guts. Really enjoyed that car and still miss it to this day.

Finished putting the wraps on this one today. Had a good time building it as it went pretty smoothly. In going for a mild street machine look, I threw on a set of AMT's pad printed tires and custom wheels set and gave it a small rake to the stance. Under the hood I found some headers in the parts box to use (unknown source). But, the bigger item here was adding the engine bay assembly from the 73 Cougar kit. The "bay" is the only surviving piece from the glue bomb I built of that kit when I was a kid, had to clean it up the best I could and came out decent I think. Painted with Tamiya TS-16 Yellow polished out with no clearcoat. The final touch was making some exhaust tips from aluminum tubing, and it was a wrap. The thick overcast skies put a hamper on my camera's ability to pick up the shine well, so I included a shot indoors on the workbench as well. Thanks for looking and any questions/comments.

Wow, I had completely forgotten about this song, and honestly, I most likely haven't heard it since the 90's. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. ?

This is fantastic! Excellent work on all the fabrication taken, and in only 12 days?! I'm lucky to get a engine block put together in that time LOL! The weathering/dirt/grime is perfect.

That is simply gorgeous! As others have mentioned, it sure could pass as the real thing. Love the various sheens on the hoses/wiring underhood, looks just right. Congrats!

Yep, that's a looker for sure. Nice job on the black finish, not an easy task.

AMT 1966 FORD FAIRLANE SUPER STOCK OF HUBERT PLATT’ S PAUL HARVEY FORD
bogger44 replied to M W Elky's topic in Drag Racing
I can only imagine the "fun" adding all the side trim must have entailed, but you persevered. That is one tough looking car, well done! In the past I also built one of these as a fictional super stock, and used the headers from a Thunderbolt. Not an easy task at all and almost shelved the whole project as a result lol! -
Thanks guys! Yeah she's not the greatest kit ever tooled up by any means, but a cool subject nonetheless.

Great build, I dig the 4x4 conversion. -
Love the color, too. Definitely looks the part. These old AWB kits sure are fun even with their crazy simplicity.

Wow what beautiful paint work! Great looking build for sure, congrats!

Finished this one up a few weeks ago. Not my best work but still happy with it. Pretty much just a box stock build with the exception of enlarging the rear wheelwells from their stock configuration, and opening up the header ends. The decals gave a little grief and tore in a couple places but it is what it is, she still looks good on the shelf. Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.

That is a beautiful paint job, as is the whole build. Removing so much of the chrome trim really showcases the great lines on the car. Well done!

That's a clean build, and wears that green well. Creative solution for the red centers on the the wheels, that looks great. Congrats!

Ooohhh that's nice! Great work on that tri-tone paint scheme. It's great to see one of these built up, I've got a sealed one I may just crack open this winter, your's is giving me inspiration. Thanks for sharing!

Very sharp! You nailed the stance. Have one to build myself someday.

Welcome to the forum, Chris. Lots of excellent builders and folks here, the wealth of knowledge and info available here is crazy. I love being out in West River, I try to get in a trip to the Black Hills at least once a year. In fact, was just there three weeks ago. Beautiful country!

Fantastic build, Bill! Sounds like a lot of work but it sure was worth it. That's an absolute classic of a movie, can't count how many times I've watched it.
