  1. I saw this in person and the pics don't do it justice. Great job !
  2. Last two pics are not showing up for me. I am waiting to see what your vision is going to be. I don't think you ever build anything box stock. ?
  3. Oh my... I was just just getting ready to start a build...wouldn't be too hard to return the headlights, taillights, and license plates to my original idea. I also have a build that the body is the only thing touched. (Painted) I could do what I did with the Chevelle and tear down this old Mustang I have sitting around falling apart. Or break open a brand new kit...ANOTHER...brand new kit that is. It will take me six months just to figure out which one... ?
  4. Great job, love the details. ?
  5. Great execution and creativeness. You can bring any other entry across the finish line after they blow up.?
  6. Great job ...and recovery.
  7. Awesome detail on that Plymouth. Sorry, my Mustang never got off the ground. Due to health issues, I just couldn't get it started. I only built two models for the year, both community builds, I wanted this to be the third....
  8. That is a beautiful color, and the wheels really set it off.
  9. Looks like you won in the end. Some just don't want too get finished...hence the stack of unfinished builds in the stash. So who did you name it after....?
  10. Thanks again everyone.
  11. Thanks guys. Trying to clean up the bench....and the hot water heater just went on the fritz...?
  12. Roger, here is the unfinished engine compartment. With the way I have been feeling this year, I just couldn't do everything under the hood that I wanted to. Eventually I will finish the firewall and install the radiator. I just love how it turned out otherwise. ? yes Bill, I started it in January but just couldn't get much done at a time. Thanks everyone, I really like how the overall package came together.
  13. Unbelievable. I have pictures of a friend's E-type that has a 5.0 ford in it.
  14. The pictures do not do it justice. I had the privilege to see this in person and it's unbelievable. The oil leak is the crowning touch.
  15. Here is my entry for this years Cannonball Run community build. The theme this year was a vehicle from the year of your birth. I started with an old built up that hadn't been painted. It was a challenge to take apart, but I managed to clean things up....or hide it. ? Revell kit, engine donated from a fellow builder, wheels from the parts box, exhaust and disc brakes from an AMT nascar kit. You can go here to see other finished builds....and a more detailed description of my entry. ?
  16. Here is my finished project. I wasn't really happy with how it turned out, especially since I really enjoyed last years build. Part of that was probably my mindset, since I only completed two models for the year. I am looking forward to next year's though.
  17. ? Lots of great ideas. Might I throw a Tom Daniel's theme into the mix.
  18. Here is my entry. Revell 1967 Chevelle. (started with a rebuilder) Disk brakes and exhaust came from a '90s AMT nascar kit. Wheels and tires from the parts box. The engine? Well....now this is where things start to get interesting. (switching to CB mode now) You see, I have this engine builder north of the border (Canada 'eh). He is a wizard with an engine. It's just a little 'ol twin turboed, EFI, 572 b..b..c. He wouldn't even tell me how much hp it was putting out, only that it was in four digits. Every time I threw a number at him, all he would say is "higher 'eh". And sneaky? He is the king of sneakiness. He crated this bad boy up, packed Red Green dvds around it duct taped the lid on, and covered it with Media Mail stickers. When it arrived at my place, it was mated up with a Tremec 6spd, and a spooled 2:14 geared 12 bolt posi unit. Suspension components were stol....ummm...I mean "borrowed' from a certain black and gold nascar. (I sure hope the museum curators don't notice it sitting on cinder blocks for a few days). A road racer buddy, who shall remain nameless (because he IS nameless), dropped off the wheels and tires. I also hopped the fence and "borrowed" the exhaust from another nascar team. (whichever team you dislike the most, well, that's them) How do I keep this thing running cool you ask. Well , I have coolers on everything you can imagine, including my drivers seat (no way is my butt going to stick to the seat if I can help it). How long can I go on a tank of gas you ask. Well, I really don't know. You see, it has a custom fuel cell that starts in the trunk, between the inner fender wells, right up against the back seat, and from there proceeds to use every available square inch of trunk space, as well as dropping down through the trunk floor where the stock tank would be mounted. I had to take a second mortgage out just to fill that monster with high octane. It really won't matter though, because at a 180, this thing will be turning so low rpms that I can easily sing along to my Sammy Hagar cassette (I...can't drive....155). When I took her out for her debugging shake down, I went by this trooper so fast that when his radar gun alarm woke him up, he looked at it and thought he must be parked to close to the airforce base. I think you will all agree that the back end of a '67 Chevelle is the finest piece of....sheet metal.... that you will ever lay your eyes on....no matter how brief that might be. So when y'al arrive on the west coast, you'll find me kicked back, feet in the sand, holding a glass of Rhetoric bourbon, just watchin the waves. Until then, Keep 'em between the lines.
  19. Last post for tonight. It may not have all the details I wanted it to have...but I love the end result.
  20. Ha! Sorry, no red interior for this beast. ? Interior is installed and chassis nailed down.
  21. Here I am again with some more progress. I have only built two models this year, and this is the second. ? but since I'm feeling better, let's hope next year is better. I have the bmf all finished and the glass in. It's almost there. Interior, chassis, and bumpers should do it. I can smell the salt air.
