  1. Wow... Seriously... I think some guys here aren't hobbyists at all... They're hoarders ;-) I have approximately 3 dozen cans/bottles of paint, from various manufacturers. Most have been used in 1 way or another or will be in the short future. I can't understand why someone would need hundreds of cans/bottles, whether they have 2-3 dozen kits awaiting building or thousands... Having sooo much paint, IMO is totally unnecessary. It's way beyond what would be needed or used. I don't mean any of this in a bad way, just an opinion on what constitutes a hoarder rather than a hobbyist :-)
  2. Can I ask, why? Why just the body? What's the point? If you're just doing all the panels/body, it's not really going to be a proper model, right?
  3. Speaking of spray paints, I was in my local art-supply store browsing around yesterday & came across this brand, Liquitex. I enquired about it & ended up buying a can. They are water based acrylics & odourless! It cost me $19.95au & can size is 400ml/12oz. If it's available in the US I'd say it'd be half that price. When I got home I gave it a very quick test on 1 of my plastic testing spoons. I'm impressed, not only with the odourlessness but the pressure the paint comes out at is lower than regular spray cans such as Testors/Tamiya. Coverage is great. It dries quite quickly & goes on flat, so clear coating would be necessary. The quality & lay-down smoothness reminds me of Zero-Paints range. Mind you there's no primer/clear on this spoon... Just the Liquitex paint....
  4. Thank you Tony :-)
  5. Talk about coincidence...!! I just saw the Chasing Classic Cars episode, with Wayne Carini, where he met the son/family of a man who had 1 of these, 1 of only 10 ever made, who was good friend's with the Italian fella ( can't recall name ) who had Ferrari make these for him, so he could race them. It was an all original 1 owner NART & man it was beautiful!!! Anyways it sold at auction for a record $25 million, which the family donated to various charities.... The entire amount!! Your NART is just as beautiful, but as you've said, no NARTs were made in that colour, but maybe at least 1 should've been! Awesome build, super clean & definitely a show piece! :-) Cheers Cliff
  6. Spare parts box.... Not salvageable bud.
  7. I'm with Nightowl... I recently purchased 6 of the Revell 70 Cuda kits from GMS customs, all were sealed, packed tightly & were RECIEVED by me here in Australia, perfectly.
  8. G'day Greg.... Mate impressive work on the Cuda! Looks the goods ;-) Sorry to hear about the injury but hopefully you'll be fine soon enough :-) Glad to hear you found some spare headers & got a new hood from Mike :-) Like I said... Any time you need Mopar stuff just drop me a pm... I'll do my best to search the stash for ya ;-) I'm awaiting some wheels that I just got off eBay for my Cuda but I'm digging being back & spending time on the bench... Had to be a Mopar to get me back on it ;-) Got a question for ya... I've only mocked mine up a few times & obviously you & a few others are far more ahead in the build but do you find the engine sits really low? Lower than in reference pics? I haven't mounted mine with the carbs/shaker hood on so I'm just wondering? Chees Cliffo
  9. No the 1 of 12 means 12 pictures. I took a pic of the eBay page with my phone camera as I can't save images directly. eBay doesn't allow it. 1/10 RC or not... $4-$5K is HUGE... No way would either 1 be actually worth the price...
  10. Try here for Vector wheels... http://www.fireballmodels.info/fmr-025.htm
  11. While browsing EBay for a particular Toyota kit I came across these 2 vintage kits, for sale by someone in Canada... I've never seen them before, but seriously, over $4000us each? I've never seen ANY kit with an asking price this high. Either this guy is delusional or just completely insane... Or maybe his Mrs wants him to unload his stash & he's marked them up so high they'll never sell...??
  12. Looks just fine to me bro! Sweet ride! Cheers Cliff
  13. I'm not surprised... At... All.
  14. Agree with Harry & Chris. As Jonathan has said, the hobby is Worldwide, not just 1-2 country based. Across the globe I think the hobby is dying, slowly, but still dying. From my perspective, down here in Australia, there isn't any "new" modellers coming into the hobby. Kids today want instant! Pleasure/gratification. They don't & won't take the time to build models. They have the attention span of a gnat! I've tried with my at least 1 of my girlfriend's 3 boys. He's in the perfect age category for building models but like I said... The attention span of a gnat :-( I myself am in the current, prime, age category for this hobby ( 42yo ) & have been building off/on since the very early 80s. Once the guys in my age range are gone from this hobby... It'll be gone for good. The generations behind us won't care & in all honesty... After I'm gone... I won't care either. It's a dying hobby. Simple.
  15. ^^^ I knew someone would post/mention Foose's 67 SEMA Charger.... ;-)
  16. I'll throw in a curve ball here.... How about Panther Pink with white roof/interior & stock Rallyes, just lowered a little all the way around? If that colour combo' doesn't stand out.. Then I don't know what will.... ;-)
  17. The Chrysler 200 looks very generic, as Rob has mentioned. Front end looks very similar to the previous generation '08-'11 Subaru Impreza. The rear looks very BMW-ish... Not that there's anything wrong with that . Overall it's nothing spectacular. Liking the ZO6... Much more meaner looking... 'Cept for that wimpy yellow hue :-(
  18. Well it's not really a model car/auto, is it?
  19. Lol! Yeh mate... Been awhile between drinks, ain't it? ;-) Haven't really had any productive time on the bench in over 12mnths... Finding it hard to sit at it for any length of time since my BF passed away. Still struggling with it all. But... I've got 3mnths annual holidays that started a week before Xmas & til now I've just been cruising & enjoying the weather ;-) & I HAVE decided it's time I got productive on the bench ( on it now ;-) Specially since I got this kit & committed myself to another B'day pressie build for a really good mate... :-) Just say the word Stumpo & the headers are your's.... & any other Mopar parts I can help ya out with ;-) Also if you're interested I have a few 1:1 true match Mopar colours in my stash, more than enough to send ya some ... I'll wait on your PM ok champ :-) Nice work on those headers/chassis btw ;-) Cheers Cliffo
  20. G'day Stump! Glad to see you're doing the smaller scale stuff... & a Mopar to boot! :-) I bought half a doz' of these late last year, I've only opened 1, which is currently on the bench ;-) Haven't had any major issues with it & hoping none of the other 5 kits have "issues" either. I agree with you on the custom wheels... Straight to the garbage bin mine are going. Got plenty of after-market 18-19-20s to replace 'em with ;-) Mate you should've given out a "shout-out" for the headers, I've got plenty of spares from Revell's 68-69 Charger kits ... Would've been happy to send you a set :-) Keep up the progress mate :-) Cheers Cliffo
  21. I've also seen this Cuda ( 1:1 ) before & is currently in my photo reference stash because I thought the same as everyone else... It's a beauty! I also had plans to build a replica but you've beaten me to it... So I'm altering my plans a bit ;-) Love the deep dish wheels too! Just so everyone knows... Fireball will be coming out with a few different ( size-wise ) tyres specifically in 1:25 for this new 'Cuda kit ( BFG radials ) I'm in the waiting list :-) Cheers & carry on :-) Cliffo Yeh me too! I'm interested in a few sets :-) Cliffo
  22. Both great builds. Love the Lambo/colour but I'm pretty sure that's not a 2010 Gallardo... Fujimi never made a 2010 kit. It's a 2005-07 ;-) Cheers
  23. Early Feb' for the Murcielago & mid year for the Roadster, Jonathan.... As for what's planned for the rest of 2014... I'm sworn to secrecy... ;-) Cliffo
  24. This kit is now due for 1st week of Feb' 2014 release....
