  1. Just found out... It's due mid 2014... Lambo' Murcielago SV.... 6th Feb. Next year Aoshima are promising to deliver 1 super car per month.... :-)
  2. Very, very nice job Randy! Can't wait to start on 1 of the 6 I have! While it may seem the front end may look a little stubby I don't think it's a huge deal & it's nowhere near as bad as Revell 2 previous efforts with this particular car. I think we can all live with this kit much easier because as a whole, it's a very nice kit & a much better effort this time round for Revell. Cheers Cliff
  3. Only 1 Cesar?? Drago is cheap! LOL! What will happen if you break window? Will you ask your Aussie mate Cliffo for a spare ?? Hahaha! ;-)
  4. You know it's coming Jonathan ;-)
  5. Seriously get over this "living in the 50s/60s/70s... It's 2013... The 21st century... Time to stop whining about how cheap things were. Get over it. It's NEVER going to be 0.49c for a plastic kit anymore. What's the point of recycling the same old story? Seriously it's mind-numbing boring.
  6. Looks like a winner to me.... Can't wait for this! I'm thinking at least a dozen or so.... ;-) Cheers Cliff
  7. Really nice 458 Curt...! I have this colour & it's so nice... Who cares which hi-Po Italian it goes on ;-) Only 1 thing I see that you missed... The headlight buckets should be a dark grey ;-) Cheers Cliff
  8. Another fine, super clean build, Matt! Well done mate! I have all these kits & have yet to build 1! :-( But thanks to you I have something to look forward to. Cheers Cliff
  9. That's funny! I've heard cover versions by Jackyl & Poison, of this song & it's just too cool! I can picture Jesse James Dupree & Bret Michaels singing it now.... Lol
  10. The Revell 68 or 69 Charger are both fantastic kits. Plenty of detail & quite accurate. They're both the same gen' B-Body Charger as the 70, so I'd go with either of those. Cliff
  11. There is no current 70 Charger kit available, that is correct. Hasn't been kitted since the early 70s by MPC. The amt Fast/Furious kit is actually a 69 charger with parts from the General Lee kit with a badly attempted 70 grill. Best way to replicate would be getting a resin body/parts from Modelhaus, runs about $70us? & using the Revell 69 or 68 Charger kit for a donor chassis etc
  12. Well done Krish'! Good to see you back mate! Beautiful car the R8/Spyder :-) Cheers Cliff
  13. Good point about having a will or having at least a family member know of your intentions for your stash after you're long gone. I've done this & my younger sister is fully aware of what is like to see happen with not only my kit stash but my diecast collection. I'm not like most of the older modellors we hear about, having 100s or 1000s of kits in their stash. I probably only have about 35-40 kits new/unbuilt, which to me is quite doable, in terms of building them all, at some stage of my life before I kick the proverbial bucket. My diecast collection however is quite large. I have 5 nephews & I've told my sis' to equally distribute it between them. At least 2 of them are Mopar boys & the older of those 2 is a huge Mopar fan. So it's happy days for my kits/diecast collection after I move on. Cliff
  14. You won't be disappointed Rob, trust me. Go for the Aber PE re-release version. I did forget to mention 1 thing though... & this isn't just a gripe with Tamiya but with nearly all the model kit manufacturers except Aoshima.... The tyres (tires), they're a little too thick ( high-profile ) & there's no sidewall detail :-( This problem is easily solvable if you can get your hands on any of Aoshima's 20in Pirelli tyres. They're perfect to replace the tyres in the Aston kit. Cheers Cliff
  15. I absolutely second Matt on the DBS kit! I've built 1 & have another 2 in the stash. Worth every cent too. Just be aware there are 2 versions of this kit available... The original release, which comes with standard PE set & could be had for under $50US. & there's the Re-release, which comes with the Aber up-market & may I say, brilliant PE set. This kit should be no more than $70-75US.... But we'll worth it for the disc brakes/calipers alone! My advice... If you like/love Astons... You MUST get this kit. Cheers Cliff
  16. I think there's many, many of us, in the same situation as yourself. My problem ( not really a problem actually ) is not running out of anything per say, it's not having the time to dedicate to building, on a regular basis. I have plenty of supplies, kits, paints, after-market PE sets etc... Just never enough time to build! I'm currently in a moving stage, luckily for me I only moved from a 2nd floor unit to a townhouse about 400m up the street. It took me 2hrs, with a friend to move nearly everything else in the house, fridge/washing machine, lounges, dining table/chairs etc.... Yet 3 days ( by myself ) to move ALL my model related stuff! Talk about over-supplied & over-whelming! Phew! Point is, I won't stop buying kits/supplies etc, that I want ( not necessarily need mind you ) because I'll be retiring one day & I'll need something to do & I sure as s**t will NOT be playing golf!!! Cheers Cliff
  17. Another good hobby-shop, on eBay, is Tokyo Hobby. Their prices are the cheapest I've seen & shipping very reasonable & they ship super quick... To Australia anyway. If you want to see just how much better the Asian kits are then do as advised... I personally recommend Aoshima's Aventador or either of the twins ( FT86-BRZ ) with engines.
  18. So your idea of carefully considering the other thread & your's is adding the word "completed".... Wow... Impressively boring.
  19. Check it again champ... This thread asks how much you would spend to build a complete model.... The other thread asks ... What would you spend on a model ( buying & building it ) Both questions are 1 & the same.... So like I said.... This forum is obsessively repetitive.... & it's becoming quite annoying & boring.
  20. This is the same question as the other thread. This place is becoming obsessively repetitive.
  21. Tyres made from styrene/hard plastic?? That would be going backwards.... Each & everyday & with every build, we're wanting more & more realism, therefore having styrene tyres would be pointless. As for farm equipment/tractors?? Mate I've got absolutely ZERO interest in any of that stuff making it to kits. None whatsoever. That would be a very minute modelling niche & no major kit manufacturer would be willing to waste $ on that stuff. The profits are all in diecast for stuff like that. I'm guessing you fellas had 1 too many alcoholic beverages that night....
  22. There are new "moments" being made as we speak, with the introduction of 3D scanning. This IS going to be 1 of the biggest in modeling history, not just for the auto modeller but all genres of modeling. Cliff
  23. I see. This might explain why I've noticed abnormally high shipping rates, double, triple & in 1 case quadruple the actual price of the kit. I simply won't bid or buy a kit, advertised for $1 or any other amount, if the shipping is astronomically high. It's ridiculous! At the end of the day if the seller doesn't change his/her default shipping rate then they're the ones who are going to lose out & eventually go out of business. Simple really.
  24. Just so you know... That's not a 68 charger... It's a 67.
  25. Chrysler ( Australia ) did. We call them utes, short for utility ( vehicle ). Google ( image search ) Valiant Ute.
