Plymouth Superbird front end material
CJ1971 replied to Bastardo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Try this site... http://www.carsinbarns.com/Superbirds%20&%20Daytonas/index.htm ... This is a great site for pictures of all types of cars, mainly muscle cars, that are found rusted out & decaying in various locations. Cheers Cliff -
Pro Touring Cars, Yay or Nay?
CJ1971 replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Each to his own. You like chocolate, I like Peanut Butter... As Harry has said, it can be done RIGHT or it can be a DISASTER. It's pretty simple. The guys who build the "Show-Queens/Kings" of this genre aren't just building a simple car/pro-tourer. They're building/making art. They're artists. They're showing their designs, their skills, their engineering capabilities etc, the cars they're making/building have to be seen/noted in a different category. These guys are at the TOP of their game, the TOP of the tree, so to speak. Just as the F1 designers/engineers/mechanics etc creativity & ingenuity eventually filters its way down to a car that you or I could go & buy down at the local dealership. These pro-touring guys need to be acknowledged in the same context as their F1 counterparts. For every Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Beatles, Elvis etc there are thousands of 1 hit wonders ... Spawned by these artists... Just as there are local car guys imitating the big ticket car guys... They won't be nearly as good or have the same quality etc but it would be boring if we ALL liked Elvis or The Beatles or The Stones & nothing else, right?? Cliff -

Hobby Link Japan - good to deal with?

Ditto above. HJL & Hobby Search are 2 of the best On-Line stores to deal with :-) -
I can tell you there will be 2 versions of the Murceilago. The stock version & the kitted 81 version. Both will have full engine detail & as with their Aventador, they will have a PE set sold separately. The stock version is due out first, around late October & will be followed by the 81 version. F1, as stated is due later in the year.

The guys are pretty much correct, there is No one true GL replica other than it be as stated, because Warner Bros used nearly 300 Dodge Chargers 68-69 & I've heard even 70 models. Your only mistake.... buying/using that rubbish mpc/amt kit. Get yourself either of Revell's 68 or 69 Charger kit... If you really want to,make a better/correct GL charger. Cheers Cliff

I got some "inside" information too.... besides this Lambo' , the long tail McClaren & 80s Celia rally car, there'll be more super cars coming in quick succession. .. After October. Their development team is working 24/7 I'm told.... you wouldn't think they'd go all the way to Italy just for stats on One car, would you???? ;-) Cliff

The 50 greatest TV&movie cars?
CJ1971 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It was the 1st car YOU saw on TV... But you didn't make this current list.... -
The 50 greatest TV&movie cars?
CJ1971 replied to martinfan5's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Why should it be # 1?? It's not even a real or normal car. No-one could go down to their local dealership & buy 1. It's a pure fantasy car, not realistic. Whereas the General Lee WAS/IS real. You COULD go down to your local dealership & buy a Dodge Charger. Not only does it deserve its No # 1 spot here but it also claimed the No #1 spot in ( a few years back ) Hot Rod Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential Cars of ALL time, voted on by well known & respected members of the World's car fraternity.... You gotta respect that list. -

Well no surprises there for No:1. Well deserved I'd say. But whomever came out with this list cannot really be taken seriously anyway... They've said the DOH ran from '79-'86.... WRONG. It ran from '77 - '84. Very surprised there's no Christine, DB9 from the last few Bond films, no Miami Vice Daytona ( hybrid ) or Testarossa.... No Nash Bridges 'Cuda... Disappointing list actually.
