  1. Thank you, Anders - I have bought the kit, too (late 80's?), but have it stored away somewhere...
  2. Very well done, Ray - the reliable truck of the Shelby team (great decals, by the way!)
  3. Excellent model , Gary, as we are used to see from you - but in a very unusual livery - keep them coming!
  4. Anders, this is the best of all your excellent models for me (because of the subject, of course !) - all your builds are outstanding !!! My version can't compare with this one in any way, marvellous car (I prefer non-red Ferraris) !
  5. Thanks, Dennis !
  6. Interesting version, Ray - I have never seen that - obviously, somebody tried to optimize aerodynamics with this "breadvan-like" roof.
  7. Thank you Chris, Ken and Carl !
  8. Very nice roadster, Rich - it even looks quite good with the softtop. The photo from the underside is outstanding ( exhaust pipes alone have a lot of details!) Though I have the Gunze roadster, the Airfix (Heller) Coupe and both Franklin Mints, I'm gonna get me one of these - it is a must have now for me.
  9. Here is one of my rare pickup models - Monogram's 1940 Ford - I always liked the look of the car, but not the features of the kit: built in 1986 from the 1985 Street rod reissue, I wanted to give it a mid-60's look: I replaced the wheels with mags from amt and JoHan WW tires, added a side-mounted spare wheel and cut a simple plastic bag for a bed cover. Sprayed with dark green from the can, interior is left unpainted (kit was molded in red). Today I took it out of its box and took a few pictures:
  10. Thank you, Doyle !
  11. Thank you all guys, for your nice comments - really appreciated.
  12. Thank you, David - the chrome trim is self-sticking mylar stripes that were included in the Union kit.
  13. I'm not into drag racing, but this old gasser looks really, really good!
  14. Wonderful Mercury in perfect period-correct color.
  15. Thanks, Mario - you're right, reworking old models brings fun and is a rewarding experience - I intend to do this with several others of my old builds.
  16. Well done, Rich. Your craftsmanship is truly admirable - all those pins and holes to straighten out or fixing warped body panels and base plates (like you did with your Peugeot 905)! (I had this kit too, but sold it off few years ago)
  17. Marvellous El Camino with wonderful paint, Anders - showroom quality as usual (I should look more often into the P/U section) ! Did you use the stock wheels or are these taken from Monogram's '59 Impala?
  18. Thanks, Patrick - if I would still build American cars, I would prefer the modern Revell version.
  19. Thank you Carl, I would not call it impressive, but it looks o.k. from a distance (it HAS some issues!). By the way, here is my '49 Merc (posted last year):
  20. Thank you all guys, for the compliments .
  21. Another old build of mine - Union's IMC reissue from the 80's, I built this one about 1987, sprayed with car laquer from the can, interior trim, windshield frame and white walls are brushed with Humbol enamels (my preferred paints back then) - a simple box stock build (the unrealistic looking side trim on fenders and body was included in the kit: high-glossy self-sticking mylar stripes). Just discovered on the Scalemates site that the Testors issue shows a box model in almost the same colors. This one is still with me, the pictures show the 20 year old model in 2007. I remember a few issues with the fitment of the hood and also the doors which I glued shut (remember, this one dates back to the mid-sixties!)
  22. Very good looking street rod, Roger - you nailed the look perfectly, with baby moons and WWs. With narrower wheels and tires, it could go for a late 50's rod. Maybe back in the day, the Ford "B" had the edge over the Chevy because it was a bit more modern looking with its body-colored grille surrounding (the hood/grille combination of the Chevy for me is like kind of "missing link" between Ford A and B model) and of course had the V8 which raised its attractivity.
  23. Thanks, David and Gary, these were old builds from the mid-80's, when my main focus was on American trucks and cars.
  24. Thanks, Monty - it was Humbrol # 69 Thanks, Glen - I used paints that I had in my stash - no idea if any of them was factory correct (certainly NOT!) Thanks, Bill - trim was brushpainted using Humbrol silver (no BMF on these)
