Yes the rim could be narrowed to fit but not sure how the wheel would look in a narrow tire. I'll get you a photo of the deep off-set wheel in the stock tires.
Detailing/scratch building looks great.
With Bruce's permission here are photos of the Italeri kit with the HRM wheels. Note the fender flares are a different shape to HRM and the kit provides a brake (?) cooling duct sometimes seen on the cars.

I was asked to post pictures of the HRM trans-kit I hope you don't mind Bruce.
The kit does include resin tires, don't know what I did with my set. The chassis in the photo is from the Fujimi kit and is not included in the trans-kit
