The Bud Moore Mustangs ran these. '70 Boss 302 Mustang T/A Wheels Minilite Magnesium 15 x 8 Tire Make and size Firestone 5.00/11.5-15 front5.80/12.00-15 rear The set I am using are not wide enough (8.3 front, 11.4 rear) but I think the diamter and sidewall height are accurate or at least close and I'm happy with the look. The Fireball tires are 6.00/10.7-15 front, 8.00/12.5-15 rear. According to the person that posted it, these pictures were taken in the Penske pits at Mid-Ohio in 1969.

Revell Hot Rod Mustang Street Machine-Engine Build Up-07/23
afx replied to mustang1989's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Love the wheels and tires Joe. -
Here is a much better mock-up with the stance and the proper track set. I also removed the wheel well trim at the rear and modified the front. I think this looks much better. I used the "Custom" suspension from the kit and was fortunate that the stance was right on IMHO.

Thanks Bill and no worries, still have lots to do to keep me busy.

Very nice Scott. I have an on-going project to build a 1/25 scale version.

Excellent photos Mike - thank you! Thanks John, I'll check it out. Purchased a set of Fireball Modelworks very nice 15" Minilites and received them today. Did a quick mockup. I was concerned they might be too large for the 1:25 scale Revell kit but I think they will work.

I tried the wire core version and didn't care for it. Your material sounds much more promising.
-
Sorry Shay missed your question, as Bill stated its an oil cross over tube with (2) breather caps.

I found this picture on Page 4. No doubt there are more in the thread.

Thanks for the suggestion Daniel. Does the rod have a metal core? I have some metal core styrene rod IIRC was made by Evergreen.

If Fujimi offers them as just a wheel/tire set I have never seen them. Wish they would though I would like to have a set myself.

Buy extra and practice. I use solid rod Shay in lieu of hollow tubing. I bend the rod either with my fingers or round needle nose pliers. Once I am happy with the shape I heat the bent area over a candle flame to relieve stress in the material and set the curve.
