This would be my most expensive build due largely to what I had to pay for the original MPC kit ($100). It was built before I ever dreamed the kit would get re-issued. I spent another $40-$50 buying various decal sets to get the proper markings and $30 for a Polar Lights Torino to use for the chassis/engine. Grand Total: $180
Thanks Mike an AthOz.
To lower the car they added a spacer (the silver block in the photo) between the leaf spring and the axle.
A silly little detail that I decided to replicate using 0.75mm (.030") flat stock. This lowers the back end 3/4 scale inches. I also replaced the wimpy molded in mounting pins on the axle with something more substantial.
Epoxy does work but a simpler method for me is Future Floor Polish. I just place a large drop and it self levels. It shrinks a lot so a few applications are required. These gauge lenses are done with this method.
Plain old straight pins used in sewing. Small diameter wire will also work. You drill into the part you want to attach, then glue in a section of pin/wire. You drill a corresponding hole where the part is to be attached.
Smokey's Camaro was infamous but unfortunately for all the wrong reasons.
Surprised the Cuda ran with the stock exhaust outlets in the rear valance (I think the restored car has them filled) but that makes it easier for the modeler just install the kit valance.
