  1. Where have you been hiding all of these great projects?

    MPC Dodge Deora

Great job on those riveted panel decals Pat.
  3. 1. Thanks Dann and Shay. Sorry Rick no throttle linkage. There are several guys on the forum that can pull off fabricating that kinda stuff but I’m not one of them.
  4. Thanks Steve, yea I don't worry too much about the details down inside the front fender wells. Some of those parts may not even be correct - just want to add interest to those areas. I did add the forward frame braces from the main chassis hoop down to the front suspension tower. These are very visible on a Cobra and are not included in the AMT kit.
  5. Excellent work Dmitry.
  6. Welcome Randy. Here is the link to the MAMA website If you would like to come to a meeting. Just a bunch of old guys (like me and you) hanging out - great fun. http://www.mamasboyz.org/
  7. Congrats Vince, what are their genders?
  8. I remember following this build. Very informative thread and the completed model is fantastic.
  9. Thanks Randy, your GT40 build is mind boggling! HRM's FIA engine with scratch built headers. Distributor and coil are from R&M. Other bits and bobs thrown in to add some interest.

    Fiinshed Bronco

    Very nice.

  12. I like the cleaner look as well Steve - good choice.
  13. You are redefining what I thought was possible in scale modeling - brilliant!
  14. Great photos Rick. I haven't attempted the front fender spats on any of my builds-at least not yet. I have tried, unsuccessfully to build the stone guard.
  15. Breaking out "troglodyte" on us in your first post! We are but humble model builders. Welcome Ian.
  16. Love it.
  17. I like to add a mounting pin to the windshield frame and drill a corresponding hole in the body. Creates a much more positive connection. 2127 ran a painted black roll bar. I cut the end off the forward brace from the AMT kit part and attach it to the roll hoop like the 1:1 part. I then pin the end of the remaining piece and add through bolt detail. You can just make out the roll bar mods in this picture from another Cobra project.
  18. Really nice work Tim. Did Unser have to run the yellow rookie bumper?
  19. Very nice Andy.
  20. The Sebring cars ran an new dash layout. Didn't replicate all the switches but enough for me. The racing seat comes from the Revellogram GT350R modified to replicate the unit Shelby used.
  21. Shay, the wheels I show are separate from the tires. Never tried painting a 1-piece set so I can't offer any advice.
  22. The cars ran "kidney bean" Halibrands. The wheels are from HRM modified for more offset at the rears. The tires are "Racing Dunlops" from Perry's Resin and are not correct but are the proper size and style. Shelby was a Goodyear distributor and ran Goodyears almost exclusively.
  23. Thanks Jonathan. Here are threads of my completed builds. I have a few more Cobra in progress. You can go to my Fotki site link in my signature to see all my projects http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/112997-shelby-cobra-427-–-csx3016-sebring-66/ http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/111755-shelby-cobra-dragonsnake-–-csx2248-“el-cid”/
  24. I never thought I would build the same kit over and over. However there is enough variation in each car to pique my interest. I love race cars of this era and the Cobra in particular (obviously). I enjoy the story of each one.
