  1. This is my kind of build; a vehicle built for a purpose with significant history and replicated at a specific point in time. Nice job Phil.
  2. In addition to the details Ace-Garageguy noted on the 914 the windshield frame turns back where it meets the removable targa top.
  3. They're even more impressive painted Ray. The best scale Webers I have found.
  4. Looks like a nice build. How about some chassis and engine photos?
  5. With a clean bench now Dave we expect something special to come from it.
  6. Great build Jurgen. I love the line of the 507, would make a great James Bond car.
  7. To the best of my knowledge Testors never produced kits of their own. They just reissued other manufacturer's offering under their label. I know they have issued Fujimi, Italeri, Gunze and JoHan kits. If I get a chance I will post some photos of the 934. From what I remember it is a nice curb side kit.
  8. I prefer to build up the HRM carbs before painting. Managed not to lose any of the intake bells but just in case HRM provides a spare.
  9. Pretty sure they are the same kit. I have the Testors release but not the Gunze so I can't confirm definitively.
  10. Your never too young to start Robert - welcome.
  11. The 914 will be a reissue of the Revell kit. However it is supposed to include the racing windscreen from the Richie Ginther version along with all the street car parts. Originally the race car version and the street car version were separate kits.
  12. I provided the link only to define what a "cheater" slick is.
  13. "Digressed into cars" Maybe not the best way to introduce yourself. Hopefully this forum will change your opinion of car modelers.

  15. Looks like a nice kit.
  16. Less we forget what hairy chested beast these cars were. Here is Bob Bondurant firing up CSX2345, which is completely original and unrestored. It is exactly how it appeared in it's final event, a hill climb. CSX2345 was original painted Princess (Viking) blue but was re-sprayed Guardsman Blue (Shelby' team color) for the '65 season. You will notice they didn't bother to mask off the jacking points just sprayed over them
  17. Thanks Brian. Because of the body mods I used Dupli-Color High Build primer applied straight from the can. I apply a coat then sand it back around any seams to flatten everything. Once I am happy everything is even I apply another coat. I really like Dupli-Color primer especially the spray pattern of the nozzle - good stuff. Tamiya's primer is also excellent. I also like their standard primer. But beware the color is quite a bit darker.
  18. That's one sexy beast Gene! It looks to be a recreation of CSX2260 which was identified by the yellow nose stripe. Hope my paint comes out even close to that good.
  19. Thanks Maxx. If I settle on a Daytona or Sebring car I don't need to create the suitcase bumps. They weren't added until the cars went to Europe. In addition my research indicates CSX2301 never received the suitcase bumps.
  20. Pretty sure that is photo of the 1:1 car. I'm sure you could get close to that if you wanted to Jesse. http://www.boldride.com/ride/1964/shelby-cobra-427-flip-top-roadster
  21. Thanks Tommy. The tires are just as nice as the wheels. Yes they are knock only. Not sure why my Fotki account has started reducing the photo size but if you click on the picture you can see the image full size.
  22. I fall into the more detail category. I really enjoy researching my projects. I find it gives me greater appreciation for the subject.
  23. I like your 2nd number choice much better Gene. Real nice build.
