  1. Thanks Nicholas. I should have a set of Fireball Modelworks awesome Minites soon and we can all final see what this thing might look like.
  2. Thanks Bruce. Thanks Joe.
  3. It's an opportunity for you to use your scratch building skills.
  4. Race cars-yea! Bring it on Jeff.
  5. I really like the engine Fred. Glad you didn't go with the chromed valve covers. I like honest engines that aren't all dolled up with chrome bits.
  6. Final version of Fireball Modelwork's Minltite Wheels. Frankly I am blown away by the quality. http://www.fireballmodels.info/
  7. I would like to have the side windows open even though they almost never ran with them even partially down. I haven't tried to work out any mounting details yet for that option so we'll see when I get closer to that point.
  8. I know the Monte Carlo rally story is true and even though I had never heard of such a project I took you at your word about the Lotus Falcon. Being somewhat knowledgeable about Fords I should have trusted my instincts. But I'll admit you got me.
  9. Another Ford exotic you might be interested in is the RS200. Reji makes a resin kit of this car but the kit is not cheap. Not sure if a GT70 kit is available.
  10. Nice project Bob, I'll be watching.
  11. Very nice build Phil and some great history. I would disagree that Ford abandoned it's effort to win the World Rally Championship. They did however choose a new weapon, the Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts. The nearly won the Championship in '78, just barley losing out to Fiat and finally broke through in '79. But that's another story. Thanks for sharing you build with us.
  12. Thanks Michel. Glad you are enjoying the build.
  13. Nice build Michael. What seat belt material are you using?
  14. Fabricated a map light for the Co-Driver's door.
  15. Nice link to factory colors. http://www.p914.com/p914_paint_72.htm
  16. Looks good Joe but you are going to gloss the engine?
  17. A fellow Escort enthusiast pointed out that the front bumpers in the kit are too tall. After checking them against the rear bumper he was right. The front bumpers are a full 1mm taller (thicker) then the rear. So here are the corrected bumpers.
  18. Thanks Shay. Fireball is tweeking the tires a bit. Haven't seen the final version yet.
  19. Best part about the map pockets Joe it was easy to do. I have seen guys make these using paper mashay and they look great. These will be installed on the bottom edge of the doors and painted black like the rest of the interior so I didn't think they warranted a great deal of effort but I did want to add them.
  20. Thanks Gene. I can't wait to get my hands on a set of these wheels. Thanks John.
  21. I always cut the locating pins off the engine halves. I then sand each half flat on a piece of fine sand paper. Lay the sand paper on something flat and slide the engine half across it. I have a piece of 3/8" glass on top of my work bench that works great. I then wet the edge of each half with liquid cement (I like Testors) and line up the halves up as best I can. With no locating pins I can shift the halves in any direction to get a better alignment. After the glue sets up I cleanup all the edges and offsets.
  22. Fireball Modelworks sent me pictures of painted samples of the wheels. The silver wheel is paint applied directly to the resin and gives the true detail level of the wheels. The blue wheel was primed and then painted and the finish is a bit heavy.
  23. Here is most of the interior junk. Made the map pockets from .040 sheet plastic. Created the folds by scraping a ball bit across the plastic. I then thinned the top edge to give the appearance of a pocket. The kit extinguishers are too large to place in front of the seats so I made a smaller one that will be installed in front of the Co-Drivers seat. The large kit extinguisher will be installed behind the Driver's seat. Added some detail to driving lamp brackets on the front bumper.
  24. I'd really like to see this in the flesh.
  25. Driver's dead pedal and Co-Driver's footrest.
