  1. I like it Rex, nice work.
  2. It boils down to what do you want to build and how accurate do you want to be. The Fujimi kit is based on a continuation car, CSX4000 in lieu of an original 427. The kit has some good points but overall it is a disappointing kit IMHO. The most glaring omission is that most versions of the kit do not include a firewall / foot box cover for the engine compartment.
  3. I use Micron pens that I buy at Michael's. They cleanup with water. I feel a pen gives me more control than a brush.
  4. Thanks for following Bill. Glad you are enjoying the build. I had an '85 Escort GT nowhere near as cool as the RS1800 but still a fun car.
  5. Here are the seats. Both will eventually be painted black. The gray Driver's seat on the right comes from a Hasegawa Lancia Stratos and has been modified. The middle seat is the Co-Driver's modified using the kit part. The seat on the left is as it comes in the kit.
  6. If you don't already know Gov't Mule checkout Dose I think you would like it. Here are two of my favorites from this killer album.
  7. Great work on the GT40 Randy. I also like the F1 sidecar project idea. Those sidecar riders are insane!
  8. Thanks Art. I have been following your Midget build - nice work.
  9. The gauges are decals Gene. The instrument cluster decal comes in the kit and the photo-etch panel is from the Reji set. I flowed some Future over everything to create the lens. The small individual gauge again is a decal and the photo-etch ring is from Replica & Miniatures "Wizard of O's" set. I position the photoetch ring over the decal and place a drop of Future in the center, once dry this glues the ring in place and create the lens. The gear shift has a molded in mounting pin under the boot. I created the shift lever with a straight pin that I saved from a dress shirt packaging. I scratch built the ignition switch, the big red object next to the steering column. The switches on the center panel are flattened and shaped metal wire.
  10. I'm not a big fan of customs but I have been following this thread from the beginning. I agree with Bill you are doing some very nice fabrication work Eric. I really like the remote pulley setup on the blower. Is this a kit part or did you fabricate it?
  11. Very cool builds Brian. Where did you get the front wheels for the Munster Coach?
  12. I use these bits a lot but not in my Dremel. I mount them in a pin vise or just turn them in my fingers. I'll even use the bits to scrape away material. I find these techniques gives much more control.
  13. Dash is complete. Nothing special but it does looks a bit better in person than the photos.
  14. I am a big fan of Bill Coulter's books. I have read the following:
  15. Thanks Dennis glad you are enjoying the build. I have been working on a lot of little things. I'll try to formulate them into some sort of an update soon.
  16. I agree completely Ray. I am bored with Red Bull's corporate design. They love to be trend setters so it's long past time they come up with something fresh. I actually prefer Toro Rosso's color scheme to Red Bulls.
  17. Red Bull reveals RB11's true colours with race livery ESPN Staff March 2, 2015 © Getty Images Red Bull has released the first images of its 2015 race livery, which will replace its camouflaged paint scheme used in testing. Red Bull's testing livery © Getty Image Red Bull turned heads in Jerez when, without a traditional launch, the new RB11 broke out of the garage in dazzle camouflage. The team got the idea from Sebastian Vettel's helmet design at last year's Italian Grand Prix, but it is actually an idea that dates back to World War I when US and British navy vessels were painted in black and white stripes to help disguise their size, distance and heading from the enemy. The new livery is much closer to Red Bull's traditional colours used since it entered the sport in 2005. The purple of title sponsor Infinity is still a feature and is prominent on the sidepods and rear wing. Fuel and lubricant supplier Total also features with red front and rear wing end plates. © Getty Images
  18. Thanks Gene. Yea I can be a bit tenacious at times. Wasn't the most pleasant of task but sometimes you have to do these things.
  19. Thanks Steve. I can't wait to see how it turns out either.
  20. I couldn't reduce the lens without making it unrealistically small. I ran this Dremel bit around inside the opening a few hundred times.
  21. Thanks Shay & Jeff. I was determined to use the Reji phot-etch grill. The issue is the headlight opening is to small. This would have the headlight lens setting on top of the grill when it should be recessed back into the grill. After much tedious grinding you can see how much material needed to be removed, compare the top grill to the bottom one. I hope the results will be worth the effort.
  22. Since we seem to be on a run of female artist I'll recommended Audra Mae - The Happiest Lamb I like the whole album but here are two of my favorites. Love the slap drum sound. Title track:
  23. Like it. Reminds me a bit of Amy Winehouse. Heres one of my favorites from her.
  24. Absolutely. Tamiya paint is made for plastic models and wont damage the plastic.
