Thanks Ken and I do take that as a complement. I work hard engineering my kit bash and scratch built parts to make sure they fit correctly. I want them to look like they belong there and aren't just tacked on.
  3. Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael Schumacher may return home by the end of the summer, according to reports. The 45-year-old German is currently in a rehabilitation ward in Lausanne, Switzerland and has reportedly been communicating with his family via fluttering his eyelashes, reports UK's Mirror. Schumacher spent several months in a coma at the Grenoble Hospital in France after suffering a near-fatal skiing accident in the French Alps on Dec. 29, 2013. Now, however, his wife Corinna recently assured his fans that the worst is behind them: “The German Grand Prix gives me the perfect opportunity to cordially thank you for all your good wishes and positive energies you keep sending Michael," she wrote. “I have to say your sympathy blew us all away! Good to know that together we made it through the hardest time!” Corinna Schumacher has reportedly set up a medical center at their house in preparation for Michael’s return. She is also in the process of selling Michael’s unused private jet, reports Germany’s Bild newspaper. After purchasing the plane for EUR 25 million ($33.6M USD), Corinna is asking for EUR 20 million ($26.8M USD). The doctors at the University Hospital Lausanne are hopeful that Schumacher will be able to use a mouth-controlled electronic wheelchair within a few weeks. Meanwhile, British Formula 1 World Champions Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button have made public their thoughts on Michael in recent heartwarming letters of support. “Dear Michael,” wrote Hamilton, “You are always in my prayers. Prayers of hope that you pull through this difficult time. You have already achieved so much, given so much. “May God watch over you and show you the way back to your family, fans and friends.” “When I think of Michael Schumacher I think of two things,” wrote Button. “The first is of one my earliest memories of being in Formula One driving out of the pitlane in Melbourne and seeing Micahel’s red Ferrari ahead of me scattering the leaves as he drove beneath the trees at the approach to turn three. Even in 2000 he was already a legend. “The second thing I think about is that familiar red car sneaking about in my mirrors. Michael was such a formidable racer relentlessly competitive – Always There."
  4. I'm no Beetle expert, but here are a few kits from my collection. I really like the Gunze oval wndow.
  5. I have edited my original post photos to show the final version of the kit. We hope you all will like the kit.
  6. Excellent build and color combination.
  7. Michael Schumacher continues to make good progress following his move to a Swiss rehabilitation centre and could return home soon, according to reports. The Formula One legend, who spent more than six months in a Grenoble following his skiing accident on December 29, was transferred to the Lausanne clinic in June. However, reports claim he could be moved to his Swiss home before the end of the month as his recovery is going well and he is able to communicate with his family by moving his eyelids. "There are signs that Michael will leave the clinic soon and be cared for at home," Swiss newspaper SonntagsBlick revealed. Meanwhile, the Mirror reports "it is understood that while Schumacher remains paralysed, he is able to answer questions from his wife and children Gina-Maria, 17, and son Mick, 15, by fluttering his eyes". It adds that "doctors at the clinic in Switzerland hope to have Michael sitting upright in an advanced electronic wheelchair that he can control via his mouth within a few weeks".
  8. Your extra efforts really lift this kit. Nice work Jason.
  9. I certainly would.
  10. This is what is so wrong with NASCAR, the cars have no similarity or definition to a "stock car". I can't understand why the manufacturers poor in so much money to support NASCAR when you can't even recognize a Ford, Chevy, Dodge or Toyota without the stickers telling you what car it is suppose to be.
  11. There is no doubting that H&M were great race car builders and contributed to the GT40's success but I must disagree with you Pete. According to "Le mans 1960-1969: The Official History of the World's Greatest Motor Race" by Quentin Spurring P/1016 (the highest finishing H&M GT40) was never higher than 3rd place and finished 12 laps behind the Shelby GT40's (P/1046 & P/1015).
  12. Added a few photos of the interior. I had to resort to using the flash so you can see some of the detail in the all black interior.
  13. Here are two photos from Dave Friedman's book "Shelby GT40" (page 98) of MkII undergoing race prep for the '66 Le Man. I can't speak to how H/M ran their GT40s
  14. Try Red Frog Hobbies looks like they have them in stock
  15. Nice build Gerald. I want to take on the IMC kit one of these days. Hope mine turns out as well as yours.
  16. Here is the MRRN article I reference.
  17. Corinna Schumacher has delivered an encouraging message about the progress of her injured husband. Now out of his long coma, F1 legend Michael Schumacher was transferred from intensive care in Grenoble to a Swiss rehabilitation clinic three weeks ago. No official updates have been provided since then, but his wife Corinna buoyed hopes this week when she appeared happy and beaming in a series of photos. According to the Mirror, during her first public appearance in months, Mrs. Schumacher “laughed and joked” as she attended a horse riding event in Switzerland. Now, a quote has emerged in the German women’s magazine Neue Post that adds to the feeling of optimism about seven-time world champion Schumacher’s future. “Moving forwards,” said Corinna when asked about her husband’s progress. “Slowly, of course, but at least we go forward.”
  18. Thanks for noticing the roll bar mods. The kit parts are not entirely accurate. The MRRN article shows you what needs to be done.
  19. Thank you for all the kind comments.
  20. Kit: Monogram Owens Corning Corvette Decals: Fred Cady - stripes & numbers, Kit decals - sponsors, Kieth Mark - emblems I have several period photos in my reference library of the OC sponsored Corvette of the ’69 season running with full windscreens and even hardtops. None of the photos are of this specific OC livery however. Regardless I chose to build my model with a full windscreen. This was built several years ago when my philosophy was less rigorous show we say. My approach now to vintage race car modeling is to build a specific car (chassis number) at a specific point in time. I hope you like it anyway. The build is based largely on an article in Motor Racing Replica News written by Bud Thon. A bit of trivia Bud Thon was an animator with Pixar. His work includes Toy Story and Finding Nemo.
  21. I really like COPOs because they are tastefully understated. No flash just performance.
  22. To follow a thread click the button in the upper right hand corner "Follow This Topic". You will then have option as to how to receive the updates.
  23. The operable trunk lid and its hinges are difficult to cast. And having built the Revell kit we're not sure the resin hinges will be sturdy enough. Therefore the body is now going to be cast with the trunk lid in place. The engine cover will still be functional. The kit will be offered at under $100. The final price is still to be determined.
  24. Very nice Ray.
  25. It looking more and more likely that Formula Haas will be a Ferrari customer, Haas Automation has announced they will be a Ferrari sponsor through 2015.
