There is not a bad one in the bunch! They all look great. You do a great job showing them off with your photography.

Very nice OC! Do you own stock in any decal setting solutions companies?

1911 Christie fire engine WIP
Nacho Z replied to Harry P.'s topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I said it before and I'll say it again. This is the number one way I learn modelling tricks - WIPs. I really appreciate the time anyone takes to write up descriptions of what they are doing, take pictures along the way and post all of it on a website. Very cool Harry!!! Thank you for sharing. -

There is a ton of planning that needs to go into a build like this before the first part is cut from the tree. I will not clog up the this thread with all of the details, but it is, at this time, a little overwhelming to me.

Thought I would share what I got for my birthday. I am a car modeler who likes to dabble into ships and airplanes. I now have three battleships. Here is the latest. I also got the Artwox wooden deck. And finally, the Lion Roar detail set. Unfortunately I don't think my skills are up to the task of using every piece in the Lion Roar set

Question about Ed Roth Outlaw engine
Nacho Z replied to Nacho Z's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I knew if I asked the question here I would get a wealth of info. Thanks again guys! I must not have been Google-ing the right questions. I kept getting answers about Cadillac's V8s that run 4-6-8 cylinders as needed. Most Ed Roth or Outlaw sites talked about the body and very little about the engine, other than it was a Caddy V8. -

Question about Ed Roth Outlaw engine
Nacho Z replied to Nacho Z's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yes, it is a Caddy. It appears that the center port is no larger than the others. I wonder how that works? It is kind of funny, I have never heard of this three pipe deal before. I guess I am not as smart as I thought I was......lol. -
I hate to admit it but I just don't know the answer to this question. I have looked on the web, Googled it, Bing'd it and asked around. No luck. On the Outlaw kit, as well as the 1:1, it looks like there are three exhaust pipes per side on a V8 engine. It does not look like the middle pipe is a two into one pipe. Why aren't there four pipes on each side? I'm sure there is a simple explanation but I'll be darned if I can find it. Thanks in advance for any answers, explanations, links to sites, etc.

That is one of the nicest examples of that model that I have seen. Like everyone else I think that is a great color choice.

Super clean build. I really like that overhead shot, (pic #5). That is the money shot for me. Nice job Dante!

I think it is gorgeous. One does not need hundreds of dollars worth of gee-gaws and doo-dads to make a beautiful build. You are proving my point . -

Other modelling genres
Nacho Z replied to racedriver25's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
If I was not an automotive builder I would build aircraft. I do believe that I would not limit myself to one era. I would love to take a crack at some of the Wingnut Wings kits. I am a sucker for boxart and I think the aircraft guys have the best . Funny thing is, currently I am on a big battleship kick. I have the USS Missouri, Yamato and Bismarck, all 1:350. I have a good bit of PE for the Missouri. Lots of reference books. The Yamato was Tamiya's loaded kit. The Bismarck is Revell's newer kit that got much better reviews than Tamiya's. I have a Lion Roar set and Artwox wooden decks for it, (so far...haha). I have already had a custom case made for the Missouri. For all of the guys who think car kits are too expensive, stay away from the military side of the hobby. I am thinking that ships have to be at the top of the pile for those who have to have all the extra bits to go with the kit. -
That is a beautiful build of an absolutely beautiful car. Well done!
-
Another beauty, Curt. Question for you. What is your opinion of the Fujimi kits when compared to RoG and Tamiya? Are they just as good, better, worse?

Very impressive work so far Harry. I am a huge fan of detailed WIPs. Great pictures with great explanations of what was done. This is the number one way I pick up tips and techniques. Looking forward to more! -
What removes old decals?
Nacho Z replied to Patrick2005's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Simply apply tape over the decal, burnish it down and pull it off. You may have to do this several times.
