  1. She is coming along nicely! Your additions to the kit are great!
  2. Doggone, Steve, this is fantastic! We don't see a lot of F1 here so it is a real treat to see this one! It looks like you knocked this one out of the park.
  3. Thanks for the kind words, Chris! The kit supplied vinyl (?) tubing is fairly pliable in long lengths but when you have to cut short lengths it is much harder to make the bends. I had one radiator support “leg” on the bottom kick out of its hole and smear a small amount of CA glue on the front bulkhead. Fortunately, it really isn’t visible when viewing the car from a normal perspective.
  4. I like everything about this one! Nice job, Anthony.
  5. Great job on this, Gerald! I could see this driving around my hometown back in the day!
  6. Very nice 442, Tim!
  7. Hi Jim, thanks for taking the time to look through my build thread. Hopefully I don’t ramble too much throughout the postings…lol. I always enjoy reading other builders threads and I learn so much. I am just trying to pass on the same thing here. There is not a lot of information on this model or building it. I have two builds in particular that have been very helpful to me. I’m just hoping to be of help to someone else.
  8. Welcome, Adam! I’m a transplant to WV but have been here for 35 years. I’m up in Fairmont. There is a good chance that I’m going to the show that Dave Van just mentioned. Let me know if you would like some details about it.
  9. Always enjoy seeing your work, Tommy! Great looking ‘32!
  10. Very nice looking pickup, Jamie! The two tone colors look good as do the wheels. Just an overall great looking model!
  11. What a great looking Mustang, John! She looks good in that color. Nicely done!
  12. Fantastic model, Rich! I always enjoy seeing your work. These cigar cars are among some of my favorites.
  13. If its Monday night, it is time for an update. Now that the front bulkhead is complete it is time to cover up all of that hard work ?. I added the water tank, radiator, radiator hoses and pipes. I know I am biased, but I think the front end of this car is sooooo cool! This is the back half of the water tank as supplied in the kit. It had three legs but, in this configuration, the bottom leg would interfere with the three reservoirs that I just added. I cut off the bottom leg and made two new ones. You can see the pencil marks showing where I would add the two new legs. This is the front radiator. I painted the entire unit Tamiya LP-3 Flat Black. Once cured, I masked it and painted the housing Tamiya LP-5 Semi-gloss Black. Subtle variations of a color can make a large visual impact. I added a Matra logo decal, braces painted in AK Interactive Xtreme Metal Chrome and hoses with PE clamps. A close up of the PE hose clamp. Here she is with everything added to the front. It was very difficult to get everything lined up and glued into place. The long metal pipes on each side of the body will be covered by fuel tanks. They will connect to the engine via more hoses. That is it for this update. Thanks for checking in on it. Next update will be back at the engine.
  14. What a fantastic model you’ve made, John! Seen it over on FB. Great job!
  15. Thank you, Randy! Hi, Rich! Thanks, buddy, I am trying my best. So far, so good! ?
  16. Thank you, Bruce! You are absolutely correct about the realism. As always, Pierre, thank you for the kind words! I will display this car with the nose off. I will probably leave the wheels and tires off as well. I’m still deciding about the cockpit cowling.
  17. Truly an outstanding effort, Thomas! She is looking fantastic!
  18. Love it!! Excellent work!
  19. Welcome back, Dann! Good to see you back here. I hope all is well!
  20. Now this one is just too cool!
  21. Very nice, Gerald! Such a good looking Oldsmobile!
  22. This will be the third and final update concentrating on the front bulkhead. As stated previously, the kit provides no detail whatsoever, only the steering rack. Let me know what you think. Here you can see that I've added fittings to the hard lines for the front brakes. Slightly different angle. From the other side. And from above. Here is a photo of the real thing. And a photo of my brake line and fittings. I am pleased with the overall results. I understand big scale, foreign, open wheel race cars don't garner a lot of love but I would like to hear some feedback on this one. I'm open to comments, advice, critiques or just some plain old discussion on this one. Thanks!
  23. Very nice, Steve!
  24. She really looks the part, Mario! You did a great job on this one. Nice pics, too!
