  1. Normally I ask my wife to buy a kit, but the ones I'm interested in are not released yet, so she took me to a nice restaurant.
  2. Hey, thanks guys!!!! BTW Greg, you've put way too many candles on my cake, I'm not that old. May I have the keys for your Charger now? :) :)
  3. Still remember the Monogram catalogs having a monthly release plan, which was pretty much followed I seem to recall...
  4. Tamiya lost it's edge on 1/35 armor, certainly if you look at what Tasca crancks out these days....their Sherman tanks are amazing. Maybe they should start another scale ;^)
  5. IMHO the box-art alone was great, the kits themselves a big dissapointment. I had the Fury NYPD version, and remember the body being too boxy, the roof line is a joke. But like many I was tricked into buying one, after seeing the "Kager" adds in the German model magazine, Model Fan ... Anyway the Mpc Rosco, TJ Hooker, Joker and Gotham city police car are much better representations of that era Monaco, provided you come up with better tires, wheels and light bars (the Mpc Dodge Force 440 is a good source for a lightbar like the ones the LAPD used) Correction, the CHP used.
  6. Mine came in yesterday too, together with the Hudson 'vert. Cool kits, keep 'm coming Moebius!!!! Paid $23 for my copy, without shipping of course....
  7. The box-art style reminds me of the same era Mpc street machines, which is kinda normal, since they were both owned by the same company, General Mills fundimentions. IIRC Too bad the Yanks, couldn't convince the Brits to abandon the 1/32 scale for automotive kits and use 1/24 instead.....
  8. Too, bad no one does the new style Dodge Ram"s, believe it or not but they're a big hit here in the Antwerp area, of the 10 P/U's I see, 8 are Ram's. It's a fiscal thing, cuz since they are trucks the owners pay far less taxes then or a car with the same engine displacement. Also many run on LPG
  9. IIRC unless you ordered the resin chassis, from Perry, you'd be better off with using the '80 Monte, because the chassis of the El Camino is too long, even for the wagon.
  10. Perry's resin has/had a '81 Malibu 2dr & wagon in it's lineup, I have the wagon and it's beautifull, you just need the mpc '80 Monte Carlo for the underpinnings....
  11. IIRC American Satco was the US distributor for Aoshima, they also sold tires sets of Aoshima origin as well as their own designs...but the story ended...
  12. There's a reason for that small box...being.... You'd have to build it, cuz there's no way you can put it back into it. ;^) BTW I like the mold alignment on the bumpers, the seams are "almost" invisible,
  13. I don't see any trashing of this kit, only pointing out an area of concern, isn't it the purpose of a bulletin board to share thoughts? Moebius is doing great things and customer feedback helps them getting better....
  14. Ah...yes...wrapped in those fantastic donut boxes, had a late '60 'vette and still have a cobra from Frog.
  15. I understand what Dave Zinn means, when I looked at the body I found it "odd" the rear of the roof being higher then the front, but it's not a deal breaker, in fact I already ordered the Flock version, Moebius is still in it's learning curve...I'm sure they will improve with every new release, unlike that other manufacturer. So if anyone at Moebius is reading this, send an extra of the next subject test shot to me for an "outsider review"... Can't blame a guy for trying LOL
  16. The following 3 Airfix 1/24 scale automotive kits, were actually re-boxed 1/25 scale mpc annuals. IIRC there also was a '67 Dodge Charger in that series....I'm sure they're not that common in the USA. BTW you can view the contents of the GTO on the following site. http://ultimategto.com/modbox3.htm
  17. Sure this hobby will die.... I expect soon the marked will be flooded with 60s annuals, for next to nothing, because no one, besides me, will be interested in those old models you'd have to build. Long live die-cast and computer games!!!!!! LOL
  18. Larry, IMHO Since Revell was going to market those, Italeri acts only as a vendor, so they don't need a licence, Revell does...
  19. Awesome, also now I know what color to paint my copy....
  20. That Hasegawa release, is responsible for buying my first high $$$ vintage kit, I now have both (hardtop & 'vert) the Mpc '66 annuals of the Pontiac Bonneville. You did great Dave, mine ended up in the trash, soon after the tires ate away the white plastic inserts...
  21. I learned from a very reliable source that it's cancelled.
  22. Thanks for showing Tim! And...yes to bad it isn't 1/25 scale, would've been neat behind a Dodge powerwagon....or the amt Chevy camper van...
  23. Cool, I had an uncle who had such a Renault, his was dark blue.
