  1. Not really, I for instance like mild street machines like the Firebird in my initial post, it' just that most of the time when hearing about the '70s it's a decade best forgotten auto wise, I disagree and wanted to know how you guys feel about it all. Thanks all for your replies, it's been fun read. Luc
  2. Photo credit, Six Pack (FB screen name) Yeah...the engine up that high would be unsafe at any speed, heck even when parked LOL
  3. Nope RC2, leaning curve (or whatever they called themselves) who owned Amt/Ertl/Mpc/Polar Lights at the time announced it.
  4. Was browsing facebook and noticed this open group called " '70s Street machines " https://www.facebook.com/groups/456235534422504/ And I remembered the Mpc kits of the late '70s early '80s, of which many represented that kind of automotive customizing, today I don't see many of this type of kits on the shop shelves, so wonder if you guys are still ashamed of the '70s, or do you still dig these kits and wouldn't say no if this building style would be offered again with newly tooled models? Thanks Photo courtesy of John Gardoski
  5. Oh yeah, rub it in for us outside the US, even with the low rate of the USD vs the Euro the American kits remain expensive. And shipping costs when buying in the US also has gone through the roof. Oh well...glad Revell Germany is reboxing some US kits...
  6. Wonder if Revell would be interested into doing this with their '57 or the '56 Chevy... Photo courtesy of Jason Robinson ( '70s Street Machines open facebook group) https://www.facebook.com/groups/456235534422504/ Reminds me of a Matchbox car I had in the '80s.... Ps. I know of the Mpc kit.
  7. The round taillights on the '72 totally destroy the coolness IMHO and turn the muscle car into a granny-mobile So I prefer the '70 & '71 models and do not care about the '72 and '73, hence me not having the mpc snapper.
  8. can't answer, but just love the art of the top box.
  9. I'll ask Sinterklaas for one ....I've been a good boy
  10. My dad says, thanks all for your fine comments. The model was made by using lots of photo's of the real truck, two Scania tractors, two curtain trailers, a few update sets, all Italeri kits, a few aftermarket parts, he trew some scratch-building into the mix and a lot of patience
  11. Looking forward to these...love big 60s Poncho's and the Comet has always been on my short list (think its those stacked headlamps) Thanks Moebius!
  12. here the lastes truck off my dad's modeling bench.. .

  16. There was also a motorcycle with sidecar, thinking Zundapp but could be wrong...
  17. Airfix Dodge "Thunderstruck" sweptline pickup
  18. Airfix "Ground Shaker" Chevy Stepside
  19. Indeed, my dad and I once bid, on an almost full display rack of evergreen on an estate action of the former Dutch business partner of Verlinden...and we won! Also at a fraction of the real worth. My dad is putting is to good use....like on this 1/24 scale WWII GMC and the project he's working on now...
  20. As many said before me, that kit is a parts treasure cove, but still wonder why they in the 90s chose to do the headlamps as molded-in units, where the vintage Jo-Han kit had chrome buckets with clear lenses. Wish Round2 would update that and upgrade other older kits too.
  21. Hopefully they show test shots and a build-up at I-Hobby (or sooner)
  22. Revell Germany posted pics of the sedan on their FB page yesterday, guess we'll see when Brett Barrow, posts an updated Revell-Monogram monthly release list.
  23. As Jeff said, the kit doesn't share anything with the Monogram release, I had this one back in the day and beside curbside, the only downside was, that it didn't include chrome parts, yet the headlamp buckets, wheels rear-view mirrors etc, were grouped together on one tree. If my memory serves me right, the tires looked great as did the wheels
