  1. Got my kits the day before yesterday and I'm wondering if the border patrol car version needs Texas license plates and Mexican for the south of the border version? Really too bad that licensing killed the other versions, I'm guessing the price per unit would've skyrocketed into the unsalable range. Still a great kit to have and the box-art by Sean looks fantastic. Anyway ordered a Gofer licence plates decal sheet, maybe I find the plates there....or does anyone know of other planned aftermarket sheets for this and other 50's police cruisers? TIA
  2. Update on the convertible.... http://www.plastik-modellbau.org/blog/neuheiten-vorgestellt-vw-beetle-cabriolet-1970-in-124-von-revell/2013/ More... http://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de/forum/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=48384 Photo courtesy from DPMV
  3. YES and Mark Nellis does them justice in 1/25th scale
  4. Another one to strike off the list, when I'm in the area. Not that they had much in stock the last time I was there in '10, remember getting a couple of kits from Al's in Elmhurst, where my profile pic was taken.
  5. $15 for an original amt '66 Impala convertible, at a diecast store in the mid 90s.
  6. After seeing the first build-up on the net from the Falcon/Ranchero tool, I gave up on those guys... They were dealt a great hand, but played lousy. Oh well....luckily Moebius stepped up and they're much more receptive to customer feedback too.
  7. fantastic build! BTW was in Ljubljana last month, great city and know a good Indian restaurant if you like that kind of food.
  8. That issue to Revell's credit was death with, later runs of that kit have the right intake and to reflect those changes the box art was altered too I have both versions.
  9. I like this format, got a copy each of the 40s, 50s, 60s and 70s edition. IMHO one format of books is still missing, sort of a "look on" as in the VP days,
  10. I got close to a hundred books about US vehicles, but it's been a while since I bought anything new, mostly due to not visiting the US as frequently as in past, cuz always took home a few when visiting B&N, Borders and in Burbank autobooks-aerobooks.
  11. Rushed into production I guess, I have an original kit and remember a large milling boo boo which shows on the inside of the roof.
  12. Fantastic build and very convincing weathering, just the way I like those 4x4s
  13. Or....there was some "miscommunication" which could result in the radio being absent in the police car release....
  14. Tire size, speed code, etc could be engraved, but maybe they're all waiting for a sponsor :^)
  15. No annual, IIRC tooled up in the late '80s
  16. For more info, click on links below Photo's courtesy of Revell Germany http://www.revell.de/?id=1033&L=1 http://www.revell.de/?id=1032&L=1
  17. Is there anyone who has an original kit and can take photo's of the contents? Because IIRC the side panels (behind the front doors and between the upper beltline and roof) were separate parts, so if the inserts of window option still exist, it would be neat just to include it as a option for those who can handle a saw and knife ;^) Thanks
  18. Maybe the file remains at the Manufacturer and you buy one command to start the printer. Dunno....
  19. Thx, and how much is that in Euro's (mm)? Don't have a inch ruler here
  20. Didn't read all of the tread but, didn't see measurements from a sibling from the OEM, comparing with other model kits in my option doesn't add value to this discussion, just saying. So as Brett asked please measurements from the actual vehicle. Thanks! Luc
  21. Could also be from an '66-'71 Opel Rekord/Commodore...
  22. The Revell Germany version is out now, just saw it at a local plastic pusher.... http://www.modellversium.de/kit/artikel.php?id=9347
