  1. Buy it from this guy... http://www.toyman.nl/Coming soon.html
  2. Odd they didn't plate the tree with amongst other parts the headlamp backings.
  3. I wonder what all is needed to set up a chroming service, and what sort of plating would be the best choice, vacuum or the more durable one? European modelers, please step in if I'm wrong, but I don't think we have that kind of service in Europe, right?!
  4. Makes sense, cuz for years a seller on ebay is unloading all sort of Jo-Han artifacts, items like old stock decals, left-over production parts, box-art paintings, and ditto models, I think even wooden bucks, but my mind could be playing tricks on me. Another question is, if Okey has the rights for the use of the Jo-Han name and trade dress, also does the latter include the copyright on past model kit designs too?
  5. Yes, but there's a difference about a car/truck one buys out of necessity versus one you would like to have but can't. Not saying this can't be a hit, far from but IIRC Cavaliers, K-Car Chargers, Escorts at one point in time were also pretty good sellers in the real world. Just saying the (automotive kits) hobby is fed by emotion, just as in the 1/1 world, but pesky things like fuel mileage, budget, and practicality are also a big factor there.
  6. and a big pop-up saying the same, when one clicks the buy button of one's favorite online store
  7. Good point, the US pickup truck replaced the big American car, big is better so it seems, and also here in Antwerp Belgium, we see quite a lot of those US pickup trucks, number one brand is Dodge with their Ram, then far behind is Chevy (more Suburbans then C series) and sometimes you'd spot a Ford Raptor
  8. Indeed, it's like aircraft kits with raised instead of engraved panel lines, not acceptable in today's market. Also, the reason I'd like Round2 to dump the old Mpc GTO '67-72 tooling, it's poison for the Mpc brand name, maybe they should use a new (or restyled?!) brand name, for all new tooling, but which one cuz they all have their dogs, except Polar Lights maybe?! Same with Revell, but they recently unloaded their old tooling to Atlantis, so I've read here.
  9. Good to hear! A question though, how well do muscle cars do with kids today...reason, saw a Lego commercial the other day and it featured an animated red '70 Charger, for a split second anyway
  10. Imports with a domestic brand name, big difference, IMHO
  11. H Wonder if it's a joint venture with Italeri, cuz their Fire truck version which they announced for 2018, didn't materialize yet, and also remember that Hannants initially announced (and later removed) a new Land Rover (product number 07047) by Revell on new years eve in '17, this makes me think the Hobbico implosion, delayed both releases, of which I assume they were originally planned for Q4 2018.
  12. Thanks, Jesse!
  13. Don't even remember what plate it had, but if it was changed I assume the rebel flag?
  14. IIRC, Holden and Ford stopped car production altogether in Australia, all China, and Korean import now.
  15. The only difference between the two is, that the T/A passes the PC test, a test which led to pulling the plug on the orange car. While it's not about politics, religion or racism, the plot for both is the same and very simple, Tom & Jerry, cat and mouse.....
  16. Wonder what GM plans are for Buick since they sold Opel/Vauxhall to PSA (Peugeot-Citroën) thus can't rely on Ruesselsheim ITDC anymore...
  17. Ah glad to see your post, which means there's hope You make valid points, especially on the build options, a kit should spark one's creativity, Amt got that very early on, others followed. Sadly there's much less of that today, mostly due to the fact that, every OEM has to give you the authorization for using their design and brand name if you want to include a scaled-down copy of their product in your kit and it also comes with a (sometimes hefty) fee. So if one designs an all-new '71 Dodge Challenger R/T kit, and you wish to dress up that kit, you better only look into the "MOPAR" family parts bin only, or open up the design towards more model years, to get more mileage out of that tool and have that gotta have factor, Anyway..hope I'm making sense....a lot probably got lost in the translation, mind ---> writing
  18. Don't have the issue yet Tim, but IMHO it's useless trying to involve Millennials, at least not until they reach the age of 40, when they finally understand the world doesn't revolve around them, and that they're in peace with that. I dunno how they're gonna raise their kids though About the topic, Revell did just that with their '10 Mustang GT convertible, snapper with separate hood.
  19. I'm buying one despite its inaccuracies, cuz the biggest flaw its marquee has been addressed somewhat, to fix them all would've taken an all-new tool. But in a perfect world, some model kit manufacturer would venture into tooling up an all-new '69-70 kit, right now I don't see it happening.
  20. I don't know if you remember the Muscle Car collection by Otis Chandler back in the '90s, it looks like Revell took some of these as subject to be kitted.
  21. Indeed, at one time I was looking at some replacement body panels website, and the only difference between the '69 & '70 fenders is the extra cut-out for the side markers on the '70.
  22. It was a costly cost-cutting measure, introducing the first in a series of high-end kits and using the body buck from the old '80s designed 1/32 Snap-Tite kit, to design the tool.
