  1. Revell got some free publicity there
  2. I'll toss another stick in here.... US model kit pricing
  3. Post isn't the same as prior Walmart era US model kit industry, the difference is in the payroll
  4. In '03 a friend I was visiting and who at that point in time worked for Revell said, if Walmart stops selling model kits, Revell is out of business,.
  5. On the box-art prop it says, highly detailed engine
  6. It seems I failed to make my point 59 Eldorado or '65 Impala, or the AMT '58 Edsel or '62 Belair were developed at a time when Walmart picked up the tab for these and a whole slew of post promo developed model kits, solely due to their buying power. IIRC Walmart pulled the plug shortly after the acquisition of Revell -Monogram by Hobbico in 2007.
  7. Could it be, that there’s protective foil on the acetate? Dunno, just guessing....
  8. yep repackaged Monogram kit
  9. this is one is to be avoided at all costs.
  10. Thanks for the info guys, cuz one doesn't see such bodied trucks in my neck of the woods.
  11. Great box-art!
  12. It's my understanding that Walmart picked up the tab for these and a slew of post promo developed model kits, solely due to their buying power. Now that said, I'm sure there's a market for those Classic Cadillacs, as well as '50s Buicks, but I suspect companies are gunshy, because they' don't know the numbers, and they do need numbers in order to get their investment topped with profit back. BTW are the US modelers prepared to spend $50 for a model kit of "non-muscle" cars, the 250K question
  13. And both were voted for on FB by modelers, so they were wanted subject matter.
  14. One needs dual rear wheels for such a utility bed no?
  15. I’m not a fan of P/E too much of a hassle, metal transfers like Tamiya and Hasegawa use is IMHO the best way to replicate scripts.
  16. If that is a genuine list, then yes great news indeed!
  17. You didn't lose the touch! great job!
  18. Indeed international shipping is nuts, 3 US kits is $52 1st Class and $56 priority, from the east coast to Belgium, so I'm pretty picky on what I still buy in the US, for the most part you're better of waiting till the kits become available here, cuz one has to add posible custom fees. It sure used to be different, I used to have a friend group all my ebay wins and purchases, he 'd ship 15-20 kits for $50 through surface mail....that was in the early nillies....
  19. It's for uphill driving, keeps the load leveled, it's either that or slide in cargo!
  20. Sure is a beauty Steve!
  21. Beautiful kit (have the '83 version, which is molded in black) the only downside is that they didn't yet have the low profile tires tooled up, first Monogram kit to have those was the '84 'Vette (glue kit, not the snapper) IIRC
